Zen (zentea) | 515 comments So, I've been putting together a sexy CD. The kind that gets you in the mood and keeps it going. Not the candle-lit dinner kind. The rock your bed kind. And I started to wonder what others thought that kind of music sounded like...

In the interest of being educated: what songs turn you on? Make you want to bump and grind your car seat if you hear them while driving? Do you think the music is universal or do men and women prefer different tunes? What rules have you followed if you have ever made a mix like this for someone else (versus just for yourself)?

Kicking it off with:

Oh La La by Goldfrapp
Bad Things by Jace Everett
Paralyzer by Finger Eleven
Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground
Closer by Nine Inch Nails
Faster by Matt Nathanson

ɯɐɔ (camalama) Okay...umm, semi-vulgar topic name, but..

Creep--Radiohead, who else!
D is for Dangerous--Arctic Monkeys (eh.)
Fell in Love With A Girl--White Stripes

smetchie | 4034 comments I sure as hell hope the next shebang is an assigned theme and that the theme is All Wet.

Ride my Rocket--The Jompson Brothers
Delicate--Damien Rice
Slow Dancing--Lucero
Goddamn Lonely Love--Drive-by truckers
Hungry For Your Love--Van Morrison

angsty longing is what does it for me.

message 14: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I have barely touched upon my slow jams.

message 15: by Zen (new)

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Susan wrote: "I have barely touched upon my slow jams."

Do they have to be slow?

message 16: by Zen (new)

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Misha wrote: "I'm saving anything else for my playlist. :)"

Ok Ok... I get it I'm going to go post it!

message 17: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Sure you want some hard rocking stuff for the raw drive, but wouldn't you want a good power ballad in there too?

message 18: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments See. Exactly. Besides, the slow jams are good for site relocation.

message 19: by Zen (new)

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Site relocation?

message 20: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments It's either "repositioning" or... ?

message 21: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments It could start at the chair and go to the couch. Or maybe the shower to the hallway then to the bedroom.

Site relocation.

message 22: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Repositioning is a given.

message 23: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Thank you for the clarification.

"Site relocation" had me thinking in terms of front door, back door, attic.

message 24: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I am not surprised.

That would be more change of address.

message 25: by Zen (new)

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Phil wrote: "Thank you for the clarification.

I must be a nerd. Site relocation = Website

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Susan wrote: "I am not surprised.

A change of address would require a really, really long ballad.... unless you were already in the car.

message 27: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Kinky.

message 28: by Zen (new)

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments I want to continue this discussion... but for those who want a shebangs, that option is now open.

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Susan wrote: "I would go with Pussy Control over Erotic City, myself."

I thought Pussy Control was by Prince?

message 46: by Zen (new)

Zen (zentea) | 515 comments Cynthia wrote: "...Bunch of stuff by Prince..."

Hahaha! I can't decide if Prince is actually sexy... I like the songs where he sounds more manly (Gett Off) but then again, I like the Scorpions and Guns 'n' Roses (more high pitched singers).... maybe it's just genre.

message 47: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Oh man, I would totally love to see Prince live. When I was a brand new Mama in Minneapolis, he was still playing long, wonderful shows at First Avenue. I was too sleep deprived to take part.

Some of the girls I worked with at Dayton's used to tell me all about his shows. Sigh.
