Sara (thelukewarm225) | 3 comments Am I the only person who didn't like this book? It's an important story and one that needs to be told, but I don't think McCormick could have me any more disinterested. I only finished the book because of this challenge. I just hated her writing style, it seemed so gimmicky and dis-genuine. While her note at the end (which would have served better at the beginning of the novel) explains the choice, it doesn't make it any better.

However, I will say that I liked that she didn't bog us down with historical details. She provided no background information, putting the reader in Arn's shoes and sharing in the confusion of what is going on.

Jorge Ochoa | 1 comments I think that this was actually a great book. The story got me so into the book i felt like re reading the book after i was done reading it. The way she described so well the story made me feel like i was arnold. It is even more stunning to see that the story actually happened. He lost most of his family because of the soldiers as it is described in the book. This is a great book
