Corey Ragan It's been a while since I read P&P, and I was hoping a more dedicated Austenite might be able to help me out. Did Mr. Darcy have any titles? I remember some titles in his family, but I can't recall if his position as son-and-heir gave him any titles of his own.
I'm asking because I just adopted a kitten that I've named Mr. Darcy (Fitz when he's feeling cuddly), and I don't want to shortchange him any titles he's due. :) And if you think I won't fill out his paperwork at the vet clinic with a full set of titles, you're crazy.

Teen He was not titled...just wealthy. Though, his aunt was Lady Catherine, it is presumed that she married a Lord thus earning the title.......the bitch!

Ahhh, okay. I figured that since he was referred to as "mister" he didn't have a title, but I wanted to get a second, better-informed opinion. :)
Should've known from the way Lady Catherine treated Elizabeth that she had a chip on her shoulder about something! She wasn't just a snob, she was a snob with something to prove.

Krista D. Old Mr. Darcy was untitled. We know that because he was referred to as Old Mr. Darcy and not anything else. However, if I recall Darcy's mother is referred to as Lady Anne Darcy. Therefore, she was titled before marriage (and keeps her title, as was custom for women).

So assuming Catherine and Anne were blood full sisters, Lady Catherine also was her title before marriage.

Michele Lady Anne and Lady Catherine were the daughter's of an Earl, hence, the title of Lady is theirs for life.

Kristen Callihan Oh wow, how did I not know this?!?! I better start paying more attention...
