Adam Bolander | 19 comments I'm slowly but surely drawing nearer to the ending of the second book in my Slayer trilogy. The first book was simply called "The Slayer and the Sphinx" with the words "Book One" below it. I wanted to name the second book "The Slayer and the Sphinx: Slaying the Past," but I've been told that that would be confusing, since the first book didn't have a subtitle. They think I should just call it "The Slayer and the Sphinx: Book Two." Short and simple, easy to tell which order to read them in. What do you think?

I believe staying consistent is always the best route.

J. Bralick (jleighbralick) | 3 comments I think you could name it Slaying the Past. Most second books in trilogies do have individual titles, not just "book two". Keeping the "slay" theme ties the two books together, while giving it its own identity. You can always put, at the top of the cover (or somewhere else), "Book Two in the Slayer Trilogy", which is what I did with my second and third books.

Adam Bolander | 19 comments Ice actually decided on something else. I'm going to name the Books according to the roles both characters play in them. The second book will be called The Convict and the Captive, and the third will be called The Protector and the Peacemaker. Thanks for your help, guys! :)
