SOS: Serious Overload of Series discussion

I LOVED Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series. Seriously, I want to be Rachel. And as many other people are I'm now waiting for the next book. Does anyone have a series similar to this? I tried Charlene Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series and hated it! Love the show not the books. I've also tried the Dresden Files, they're ok, but didn't grip me like I'd hoped. I just recently started Rob Thurman's Nightlife and.... Meh.
I appreciate all suggestions. Sorry I'm so picky.

Have you read Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series? The first on is Bitten and is about werewolves, and starting in the second one, the books introduce other supernatural races.

I personally really liked and think the series has a kind of Rachel Morgan feel. Hope you find some good ones, there's no problem with being picky! :)

I started taht series a year or two ago and liked it up till Industrial Magic. I just got kinda bored with it.
