Brandusa (brandubell) Heey guys.
Summer is almost upon us and that means spending endless days at the beach. So I was wondering, do you have any recommendations of quick and funny books to read? Maybe with a little romance?
Last summer I read Sophie Kinsella's books and I really enjoyed them.
Waiting to hear your recommendations. :)

Angie Smith My favorite light/chick lit authors are Jennifer Weiner and Marisa de los Santos, particularly Good in Bed and Love Walked In, which were rare 5 star ratings for me.

Betsy | 190 comments I like Nora Roberts for light reading. Romance, a little bit of tasteful sex, usually some suspense, and sometimes I learn something. Plus she can be very funny. My favorite is Hidden Riches because of the funny back & forth relationship of the leads. Like a forties movie.

I also really liked Birthright -- suspenseful, but a little darker -- and the Chesapeake Bay Saga. I avoid the ones that are reprints of her earlier works (Harlequin, etc.), because I don't think they're as good.

Also, J.D. Robb, who is just Nora Roberts in a different mood. Her In Death series is one of my favorites. Near future, New York police procedurals, great characters, suspense.
