What are your thoughts about this character as presented in this book? I was most interested in his curiosity about measuring time. My thoughts, this is what makes man who he is, our brains would have to keep digging.

He was my favorite. I loved his ability to love. He loved his wife and family so much. I related to him as God, since he had the abilities similar to God. I loved the part where he basically calls counting time a sin. Because prior to him no one counted time. And everyone after only wanted more. Because once you know how much you're going to have you don't use it wisely. This book was very good in my opinion. I've not read anything yet by Mitch Albom that I didn't like. :-). I highly recommend this book!

Dor, the man who found time, was simply a man who spent his life fixated on the continuous pattern that we now know as time. He didn't enjoy life to its fullest since he was obsessed with the concept and he even neglected his family. When his wife falls ill he is devastated and climbs the Tower of Babel that was being constructed to confront the gods. This leads to his punishment which is banishment to an inescapable cave where Dor is forced to listen to the voices of those tormented by time with pleas that he cannot attend to, thus leading to his existence as Father Time.

Sarah Lemon is a smart girl who is looking for attention and love that she hadn't received enough of. When she believes that she's found the one, she is harshly rejected and criticized, leading her to wish to end her life. She wishes for less time.

Victor is an old man, trying to outrun death. He is diagnosed with cancer and his days are numbered. Deciding to use the method of cryptotanks to extend his life in the far future, he is prepared for the moment. He wishes for more time.

Dor is one of the more interesting characters in this book. Being the first man to ever measure time, he has a unique perspective on it that nobody can share with him. While it's true that all three of the main characters in this book, (Dor, Sarah, Victor), go through some sort of revelation, Dor transcends the time given to him during his mortal life to truly look at what time means.

Even in such a short book, Albom creates amazingly rich characters that are both believable and relatable. I've read many of Mitch Albom's books and have enjoyed all of them.
