Aisha | 2 comments My friend Katie recommended me a book wherein the female lead was a bigger girl and falls in love with a werewolf/shapeshifter, and he has the power to make her "thin and beautiful" but when she asks him, he tells her he loves her as she is.

Pretty vague, I know, but she made the book sound really good and I'm anxious to read it.

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Keep in mind I haven't actually read this book so I don't know for sure if this is it, but could it be Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon?

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments Well, it sounds vaguely like Sherrilyn Kenyon's Night Play. Vane is a were-hunter and he falls for Bride, a plus-sized beauty. He doesn't have the power to make her thin, but he doesn't want her thin and loves her just as she is. It's a favorite book in the Dark Hunter series.

*** Edited to say, that even if the book you're after isn't Night Play, I highly recommend it. Vane is smoking hot and loved by women of all sizes. ;)

Jess | 173 comments I would agree that it sounds like Night Play. Fantastic book, and a fantastic series :)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments I'm pitchin' in with everyone else and agreeing that it's Vane's story.
Oh is that one hot Were. Bride was great, too.

And I do vaguely remember her asking if he'd be able to make her thinner...

♥Tricia♥ (siddie) | 146 comments Ya she did ask that, and she was a size 18 I do believe in the story. Such a refreshing book that was!

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Wasn't it? I liked that Sherrilyn broke the heroine norm!

Actually, she's not the only one to do that. Katie MacAlister does it too in a number of her books. This one is a particular favourite of mine.

Aisha | 2 comments Thanks everyone!

And Ann, Katie M is the reason I started reading paranormal romance in the first place :D She's pretty awesome.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Lol, Ann...I just read the first review on that book, and the writer says her only problem with it is the use of the word "lave."

Hysterical to me because that's one word that I snicker at every time.

Anywho, that book sounds fun. Thanks for the recommendation!

Michelle M--you might also like the book "Hard Day's Knight" also by MacAlister. That was actually the first of her books that I found. I bought it 1) for the play on the musical group and 2) I like books with visits to scifi/fantasy/SCA cons/meetings. Also, another good one is "Blow Me Down" who wouldn't love to be in a VR world with handsome swashbucklers?
