Breann | 398 comments What were some of your favorite books you read in April? Anything you were surprised by?

message 2: by Ana (new)

Ana My fav book I read in April was The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris . Many of my friends were recommending it and said it a beautiful book, but oh my god!!! I absolutely loved it!!! Such a warm and emotional story. It's definitely among my all time favorites too.

Tiff TowelsandHearts (towelsandhearts) | 291 comments Favorite read? Well, it's too hard to pick just one. LOL. I loved Love Irresistibly by Julie James (I was looking forward to it since I've heard it existed)! S.H. Kolee was my surprise-author of the month (Love Left Behind, woohoo)!

Julie James is fantastic! Her books are always sexy & fun.

Breann | 398 comments Some of my favorites this month were:

Touch & Geaux (Cut & Run #7) by Abigail Roux <- Ty & Zane so... duh ;)
Louder Than Sirens, Louder Than Bells (Love is Always Write) by K.D. Sarge So good and free!
Something Like Summer (Season #1) by Jay Bell Ripped my heart out!
Witness in Death (In Death, #10) by J.D. Robb
A Matter of Time (#2) by Mary Calmes

I was bummed I didn't enjoy Tell Me It's Real by T.J. Klune . I was so excited to read it because I love Klune's other books, but this didn't work for me :/

Tiff TowelsandHearts (towelsandhearts) | 291 comments Breann-- I know what you mean! I've been addicted to her books since I read Practice Makes Perfect! Disappointed that Wilkins wasn't the hero though! I was sure it was gonna be him! :(

Fran | 12278 comments I have 3 favorites from April-

How to Misbehave (Camelot, #1) by Ruthie Knox - I loved every single thing about this novella!

The Hostage Bargain (Taken Hostage by Hunky Bank Robbers, #1) by Annika Martin - I had no expectations for this one and it ended up being a great surprise. Wacky, hot and fun- there is a follow-up short story that I am definitely going to read.

With a Kiss by Kim Dare - I really liked the different take on vampires. A vampire in a 'coma' and a broken, sweet aide.

Breann | 398 comments With a Kiss was one of your faves huh? I have it, so I guess I need to get to it soon!

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Out Of Focus by L.A. Witt was an unexpected winner for me in April. I'd had this book on my TBR for 18 months but kept overlooking it. What a mistake. Loved it and realised what a great writer LA Witt is! The other book I was expecting to be a bit ho-hum but was SO much better than I anticipated was No Fear (Conquest, #2) by S.J. Frost .

I was a touch disappointed with Home Work (Life Lessons, #3) by Kaje Harper . I usually love Kaje's work but the book was a bit mundane for the first half :( Guess not every work can be a complete winner. On the positive, the story line was left in such a way that there HAS to be a book 4.

I really liked it. Some mixed reviews but it really worked for me. It held my attention the entire time. I loved Liam and Marcus, your heart will break for Liam.

Love the covers Lacy! I just *wish* I could get back into the BDB series... :( I'm stuck on John Matthew's book_Lover Mine.

LOL! :0)

I keep saying that goodreads needs a "like" button, or a "damn straight" button, or ... A "ditto" button!

I can see getting stuck on that one. It was such an anticipated book that it had a lot to live up to. I fly through these books though, even when I try to make it last. The only one I had trouble finishing was Phurry's book!

If you ever get through Lover Mine, the next ones are really good. ;)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I really didn't enjoy Lover Enshrined - he was SO roached!

message 19: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments That one I enjoyed more the second time, maybe because I knew what to expect? And now that I've read JM & Rehv's stories their scenes were more interesting to me during the reread.

message 20: by Scarlet (last edited May 05, 2013 12:29PM) (new)

Scarlet (extraordinarygirl86) | 28 comments My favorites this month were:
Web of Lies (Elemental Assassin, #2) by Jennifer Estep Venom (Elemental Assassin, #3) by Jennifer Estep Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione Crimson Frost (Mythos Academy, #4) by Jennifer Estep Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost

I've been lucky with my reading material for the past couple of months. There hasn't been a single book I didn't like. :D Hopefully I can keep that up in May.

message 21: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments Oh, you did read some goodies Scarlet! Hopefully May will be just as lucky for you :)

message 22: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I've just started the reread (OK, re-listen) of Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep . Love the narrator, and I didn't want to start Web of Lies until I refreshed my memory on the whole set up. I loved this book the first time around, so I'm looking forward to the revisit :)
