Lindsey Hello my name is Lindsey, I am 20 years old and an avid reader. I created this group because I read so many different books with no common genre… except for the fact that they are all slightly unusual. Hopefully as the amount of members rises, we can all share books with one another that keep us questioning and turning pages.

About me specifically? I am fascinated by fantasy, the supernatural, mysteries, thrillers, and anything with a twist setting it aside from the norm. I am a college student studying Horticulture. I write in my spare time along with playing and writing music for the folk harp.

Lee Thompson | 2 comments Thanks for the invite, and Hi Lindsey! I'm a musician too, and a writer. More than anything I love reading though, and I read all kinds of genres, but prefer stuff that isn't easily classified because I think that stuff comes closer to real life and a writer's heart. Some of my favorite authors are James Lee Burke, Clive Barker, Jack Cady, Peter Straub, John Gardner, Faulkner, Dennis Lehane, etc.

J-Sin | 1 comments Hello, Lindsey, I am 36 years old and only read when forced to do so. I mostly only read James Patterson and Danielle Steele books because they are the best, but occasionally, I'll read a John Grisham if I am feeling adventurous.

I did not attend university because I received extremely poor grades in middle and high school (but owned elementary school!) and realized that I'd have to get a job to pay my way through school, as scholarships are not awarded to those with "D" averages, and I said "to hell with that noise" and instead got a job at Target. I worked for that company for five years and regretted not paying attention during Honors Biology and Home Economics EVERY SINGLE DAY during those years.

In regards to horticulture, I once tried to grow some tomatoes, but they didn't last long after I stopped watering them. So I guess I don't have a green thumb.

I rarely write in my spare time because I have a full-time job doing so, but I did play the acoustic guitar (not well) when I was sixteen. Needless to say, I got distracted (by a shiny nickel) and stopped learning the chords. I still have that guitar, however, and can prove it by taking a picture with my cell phone.

I wonder if the Folk Harp would be easier to learn.

A.R. Voss (arvoss) | 1 comments Thanks for the invite Lindsey, I love to read, my favorite authors currently are Dean Koontz, James Rollins and Preston & Child. I've co-authored an Epic Fantasy series, The Key of Creation; which hope to share with everyone who is interested in reading them. Currently we are running a promo on the first book of the series, "The Rise of the Destroyer" for $.99 until Monday; which funny enough it was doing better in sales when it was at $2.99

"Only read when forced to" hopefully you can get the name of a few new book titles from this group to change that!

Lots of musicians on here, I like that.

So nice to meet everyone :) Feel free to invite friends.

Markus | 7 comments Hi all, I guess I'm a musician on hiatus. I used to play drums for a band called Pistola out of NYC. We did some light touring, never had a label backing us.
I've been playing in bands since i was about 12 years old but havent been playing much the last year besides a couple shows at sxsw in March.

Anyway, besides all that my job allows that I can get a lot of reading done especially in the summers so I like to geek out on goodreads and all that. I used to exclusely read non-fiction but I'm into it all now, classics, american lit, magical realism, etc.

My job? well its not Horticulture but close- I got my MS in Aquaculture and now work in environmental science.

Keep on keepin on,
markus
