Deena My whole belief in life was that she loved me.

This is said by the main character, Micheal and he's talking about the woman he loves, Ellie. The only reason I picked this quote is to display his personality a bit. To me he seems very wishy-washy, and a drama queen!!

Deena One of the oddest things in life is what one remembers!

I love this quote. I totally agree with it too, it shows the deeper side of Micheal that I do like, however it gets to be a bit annoying after awhile. I like this one to cause it really makes you think, just like Micheal was doing a lot in the book.

Monica Well a guilty conscience will make someone come up with great quotes inorder to make sense of the evil things they do.

Amarante "I've been in love one and if I felt it coming on again I tell you I'd emigrate."

definitely my favourite quote from the entire book. It shows you just what a comedian Agatha Christie can be and how sudden she can change a book from a romantic drama, to a thriller, to something psycho to the core.

Susan I love this book! Superb writing!

kardia When i first started reading this book I was slightly confused, All the Agatha Christie I have read were very different, I mean most of her other novels appear to start with a murder and lead on from their but no this one, but I guess thats what made it so much more enjoyble, the ending for me was perfect, the way Christie let Poirot just slip in and save the day in the last minutes, I was truely captivated, amazing read for anyone who loves murder and romance.

That statement does seem suspicious. At first I didn't think there was any hint of foreshadow at the main character's motives or thoughts and that made me criticize this story heavily. But now that I look into that opening statement that could imply that he is a little showy where he is kind of being, I can't think of the word, like he is putting this as a cloud on top of what he's really thinking!

Alberto @kardia This isn't a Poirot novel. Were you intending to compare it to another book?
