Glad you joined us, Victoria. We have lots on military history here -

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

We have sections on pre-Columbian history here -
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/5...

And a section on native Americans here -
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post. Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book and/or author and increases the readability of your post. This is how books you mention should look:

Alicja (darkwingduckie7) | 161 comments Hi, I'm Alicja originally from Poland but have lived about 2/3s of my life in Florida, US. I have always loved history, especially ancient world (ancient Greece, Persia, Rome, etc. and anything Alexander the Great) and WWII (with a special fondness for the British). I completely adore anything written by Mary Renault (who has written ancient world fiction, WWII fiction, and historical non-fiction). I am no expert and read historical fiction and non-fiction just for fun. I also love a little sci-fi in my history through time travel (you can blame it on Doctor Who, and more specifically on 'The Empty Child' episode; I couldn't get over Jack and Rose dancing on top of a Chula ship in front of Big Ben during the London Blitz with barrage balloons in the air). Since then I've been partial to time travel history fiction, Connie Willis being my favorite author there. I am also interested in the history of the LGBT movement as well as that of historical LGBT figures.

Ezhil Hello ! My name is Ezhil and I am originally from India, but living in Michigan, USA right now. I've recently developed an interest in history, especially political and economic history of the past century, and thought it would be good idea to get started by joining this group. I have begun reading the book Drift : The Unmooring of American Military Power and hopefully get to read more about the Vietnam war (for which I am searching for good recommendations).
