Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.
This is how a book should look:

Hi Jen, Abu, Faith, Rosa, Mahfuz, Sergey, Christine, Ulla, Sue Ann and Jos. We are delighted to have you join us.

I am excited about joining your group. I have been an avid reader of 20th century English history, the Civil War, and John Kennedy. Right now I am reading the 20th Maine by John Pullen and The Irish Brigade by Joseph Bilby. Can't wait to participate in the discussions.

Hey all,
My name is Twinkle, I am from India working in Sales for an IT company. I love reading books on history and mythology.
.......
I love reading fiction wherein mythology is retold as a part of history as well reading biographies of people, understanding the reasoning behind the decisions that they made and the impact that decision had, which can be seen today.
My next to-read is Guns, germs and Steel by Jared Diamond as well as the The Last Mughal by William Dalrymple.
I am open to suggestion for any book relating to History, Mythology or any other good read, worth reading.
Delighted to be a part of this group.

World history before renaissance and Indian History before British Raj interest me a lot. My grandfather was in army so, I have slight fixation about military history as well.
I'm really glad that I could find a history bookread club.I hope I get to read good books and participate in some intriguing discussions.
Thanks

I am Danail Hristov.
I have been examining Christianity for seventy years. In the process I encountered a fraud, which I believe to be unparalleled in the whole course of human history; but I did not lose confidence in God.
I'm interested in the Bible, also in the fundamental structure of the Universe and Life, the qualities and abilities of man, and finally, in human experience – historical, social and personal. And therefore I read history and non-fiction, especially biblical history, history and nature of religions, historical novels, mythology.
Your group seems serious. I really like your zero spam policy.

My name is Dina, I am an Egyptian-Turkish who lives in Egypt. After finishing Law school, I became so interested in studying History; I am currently following a History course online. I am glad that I found this group, it looks promising!

Brazil is such a beautiful country. I visited on a cruise many years ago from São Paulo up to Salvador. I most enjoyed visiting Ilhéus and the home of author Jorge Amado

I also enjoy reading about the history of various diseases, the Middle Ages in general, WWI and the early 20th century.
But mostly right now I'm trying to focus because my boyfriend's English kids (late teenagers) have a lot of questions (and opinions, frankly) about racism and the police and it's just a little too pat to say what comes to mind at the moment, which is, "You can't understand because you weren't raised there."
