Currently Reading? Just Finished? 2013 and on

I enjoyed reading this after a long absence from reading any of his books. No surprises in format; still entertaining. Not sure what I plan..."

Aiesha,
As I say, maybe her books have changed a bit in the years, but I am not capable to write that way. So she still is a great writer !!!

Just finished The Chase by Janet Evanovich, which was surprisingly great. Today I will be starting Killer by Jonathan Kellerman. I voted for it for the upcoming read for May but I didn't want to wait to see if it was selected. If it is, I'll weigh in on the discussion.

I read The House of Silka while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. Horowitz seemed to really capture the mood of the classic Sherlock Holmes story.

Now I am starting on

Just finishedThe Frozen Dead, by Bernard Minier. Very good book, translated from French. It has an asylum in the mountains, three very strange deaths, and the race to find a killer -- what else do you need?

I had my hand on that book in the bookstore & picked up something else instead. But if I start seeing really good reviews, I'll probably pick it up.

I had this on hold and just this from the library yesterday for my local book club read. I didn't realize it was such a thick book!

I have just finished "The Winter People" by Jennifer McMahon. It was really a "page turner"! I normally read "Thrillers" and "Historical Mysteries" along with some "Fiction" and "Cozy Mysteries". I never read "Sci Fi" or books of vampires and ghosts, so this book was a stretch for me! I did enjoy it and even with the author jumping thru the 19th century and several generations in time I followed the storyline. The ending was a bit of a shock, a bit more gruesome than I prefer but still a good book overall. I would rate it as a #4.
Now... how to decide what to read next? :>)

I've enjoyed a number of Harris' other books so I have high hopes for this one. I'll be interested in your thoughts when you are finished.

Well, I'm not going to keep my paperback copy, so if anyone (in the US) wants it, totally free with postage paid by me, it's yours. I'll hold on to it today and tomorrow, and then the offer disappears.

Um, I'm not gonna pass up such a generous offer, if it hasn't already been snatched up by someone else. I'll send you a message, Nancy.

Just acquired it. I like RH. I've read all his books so it was great to find something new by him. It's on my (ever growing) TBR list.

Have just finished reading

My review is here:

The story has two time lines running through it (1898 and present day). The author has the timing done perfectly, and I find myself reading eagerly.

Maya, look at the top of the comment box--see the "add book/author" link? Click that and then type the book title. If there are multiple books with the same title, you might need to scroll through the choices. When you find the title you want, you can choose "link" or "cover" (there are buttons at the bottom of the pop-up screen; you might have to scroll down to see them).
Give it a try!

Above the comment box where you type your post is "add book/author". Go there and enter either the title or author name and if there is more than one, click on the one you want. You can click between book and author, and also if you want it to show up just as a link or a picture of the cover. Both will take you to the book in question.

thanks for your comments guys, I will try on pc and see of it makes a difference.

Hi Maia. Just above & to the right of the 'comments' box you will see 'add book/author' then (some html is ok). Simply click on the former, enter the name of the book & hey presto!

I am a Harris fan, too, and just downloaded a sample. Next up on my list is:

Okay. At the top of the comment box you will see this: "add book/author" -- which is a hot link. Just click on that and follow your nose. The book cover/link will be placed into your comment at the exact point where you click on "add book/author".

I think her earlier ones were better. I'm not "tired" of the series yet. I was told by my mother in law the next book is where it starts getting irritating because of the way they headed the characters.
This book is pretty good so far!
