If you are looking for a psychological thriller/page-turner that is a real 'whodunit'.... this is your next read!

I don't know what to read next. A house full of crime/mystery novels, and I have no idea what to read. Someone should choose one for me from my list of crime fiction.

Try Rubbernecker. It is a on the lighter and strange side. Don't know if it is on you TBR list as there are LOTS of them. Lol. I see you liked The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It has a similar feel.

Thanks - I don't have a copy of it, but I'll check it out. I was actually only joking about looking through my crime books!

Been there, done that. But thanks, Skye!

My rating: 2 of 5 stars
2 1/2* rating.
Nick's wife Amy has gone missing on their 5th Wedding Anniversary, and he is a suspect.
The story is told alternately by Nick and Amy. But who, if anyone, is telling the truth?
I just could not get excited (except at one point) about this book. At that point my jaw dropped and I thought 'Okay, now this book is going to get really good.' But unfortunately it didn't.
There were bits of the book I really liked; e.g. Nick counts his lies to the police - "This is the third/seventh/eleventh lie I have told the police" - but we don't know what the other lies are that he has told.
I found a lot of the story to be quite predictable, and the characters themselves unlikable and almost caricatures.
I found the ending disappointingly banal. The only reason I can see for it ending the way it does, is that there is a sequel planned. I, for one, won't be rushing to read it.

Then you will love this book Sandra:)Enjoy!

After my last book, and not being able to finish The Stuart MacBride book.
Great to get back to a author that I know I am going to be happy with and I was.
Knowing that I enjoy this type of book, with assassins, international travelling and plots and of course the great characters Will Robie and Jessica Reel.
This book has you hooked from the beginning with the return of Will Robie and Jessica Reel but now with the added bonus of a North Korean assassin, and a good one.
David Baldacci seems to know his knowledge on North Korea, and a great plot build up with exciting tension, excitement, suspense and lots of fast paced action from across the world.
Reading an author I enjoy so much, makes me appreciate them as to write a "good book" is not quite so easy as you think as there are many weak books out there as well.
I just could not put this book down and had to get to the end and the conclusion, and lots of twists and turns.
Enjoy

OK, I get it now. It was indeed that good. (Thanks for all the rec's folks... you were right.)

Lighter than...?
Perhaps one of MC Beaton's Agatha Raisin books? Or any of the Leo Waterman series by GM Ford. Or, The Rattle-Rat by Jan Willem van de Wetering.
Oh! Or one of Colin Cotterill's two series.

Maybe something like a Donna Andrews? I read Duck the Halls last year and loved it. I've got The Good, the Bad, and the Emus trying to rise to the top of my TBR pile.

Tad, are these books for real; they sound good.

Thank you.
Not crime, but I'm reading A Dance with Dragons. Then I'll calmly go into withdrawal until book six is published.

No, but I love the books. I'm dressing up as Daenerys Targaryen for my Halloween party.

I am hopeless: I have done the above so many times, but on the 'add 'button,' it doesn't click; it has add/link/ cover, search???, and I don't where to locate the left arrow...duh

Skye, when you do "add book/author" all you do is type the name of the book in the little box. Hit search. Then click "add" on the right book. If it's not the right edition, you can click on "other editions" and add.

I will try again, thanks everyone.

As the story opens Cayce is in London to evaluate a proposed new shoe logo. The woman who represents the logo designer, Dorotea, seems to take an instant dislike to Cayce and may even be responsible for a break-in at Cayce's London residence.
Cayce is soon hired to find the makers of the inscrutable film footage, which might be useful for a marketing campaign. During her search for the filmmaker Cayce meets an array of interesting people and travels between London, Japan and Russia. Everywhere she goes, however, Cayce senses she's being followed, which seems to be proven when she's attacked in the street.
The book is chock full of engaging characters and essentially reads like a thriller, as Cayce rushes here and there to discover something that unknown (and hostile) 'others' also want to know.
All this leads to an exciting and believable climax. Very good book, highly recommended.
