jenjn79 | 564 comments Right now, that is the only way to add a role - delete the "author" and re-add the person with a role.

Actually, you can boot 'em up to first author, enter a role, and boot 'em down. But since that involves saving the book at least once and editing, definitely easier to do as Isis suggested.

Cynthia Armistead Newman (technomom) | 159 comments I was about to ask the same thing. Unfortunately, some of the books in question have a LOT of contributors, so it takes a long time to delete and re-add all the authors.

I copy-and-paste to a Word document in those cases. But yeah, it's a bit of a pain.

(I'm still thrilled that they enabled multiple author roles though, so I can't complain too much! ;) )

Cynthia Armistead Newman (technomom) | 159 comments You mean I could list a person as an editor and as a contributor, right?

I've worked on a BUNCH of anthologies in the last 24 hours, and didn't know I could put in multiple author roles. Is there some way I can see a record of what I've edited?

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Cynthia, You can see what you, or any librarian, edited by going to your/their profile and clicking on where it says Goodreads librarian. It is a link. Yours:

EEP! NO! Please don't -- it makes the database unhappy when the same person is listed on a book more than once.

Edit: I see that you're listing them as "editor / contributor", and that's just fine. :)

No, I meant that until a few months back, there were three author slots, and no "roles". So if an illustrator was listed (which some librarians did and others were undoing), they appeared to be an author. And with only three slots, books with more than three actual authors (such as many textbooks) had some missing.
