The simple fact is that all book stores have buyers, be it the owner of the book store or someone the owner has appointed. These buyers are already on list from distributors, who flood them with sales calls and brochures about books coming out in the next year. Yes, they have to plan very far ahead. The buyers also attend looks of book expos where they might place orders.

The book stores expect a very good discount from the publisher or writer selling. They also expect other perks, like purchasing end cap space and special promotion posters, not to mention a return policy on unsold books as well.

Instead of spamming via email, you would do better starting out with a local mom and pop store. Meet the owner in person. Sell them your book in person. Show them your sales stats to date. Offer discount and return policy.
