C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments I would like someone to please explain how to add some of the widgets to my blog and website: The "+Add to Goodreads" button and the plain "g". I can't find out how to get the code for them.

Thank you so much.
CJ Heck

Marilyn Slagel | 32 comments I'm interested in this, too. I have failed miserably trying to get some of them.

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) I think the little 'g' is just a graphic; right-click on it and save it to your computer, then insert it where you want it and attach whatever code you want to it.

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Thank you K.A., but how about the +Add to Goodreads button? I would think in order for it to actually work, you would have to have a code.

Kerry Reis (kerry_reis) | 14 comments Go to your author dashboard. On the right side is a section titled Author Widget with a link "Add author widget." This will lead to a page with three different widgets and some graphic buttons. Besides the Add to Goodreads widget, I have added the Goodreads reviews widget to my website. They work very well.

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Yes, thank you, Kerry. What I want to do though is put the "+Add to Goodreads" button on each of my books pages on my website so visitors can add my books to their goodreads shelves should they want to.

Kerry Reis (kerry_reis) | 14 comments No problem. Configure the Add the book widget for each of your books. Copy the code after each configuration to the appropriate book page on your site. You can create code for as many book widgets as you need. You can do the same for the review widget as well.

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Where do I find the code to configure the Add the book widget, Kerry?

message 9: by Kerry (new)

Kerry Reis (kerry_reis) | 14 comments Under the "Add To My Books Widget" header, you will see a dropdown menu option to select from your books in Goodreads, a check box to unselect the friends counter on the widget and the text box where the widget code is displayed based on your selections. There is also a "preview" button to see how the widget looks on your page. When you select one of your books in the dropdown menu, the code changes in the text box. You highlight the code within the textbox, copy to your clipboard (I right-click myself), then paste it as text in a Word doc, text file or directly into your webpage for that book. Go back to the dropdown menu and change to the next book. The code changes in the textbox. Copy and paste. Continue on for each of your books until you have created an "Add to My Books" code for each of your books, that you have copied, labeled and stored for use on any of your websites. Does that help?

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Sure does! Thank you so much Kerry. I really, really appreciate it.

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Geez, I don't know where to go to get to the "Add To My Books Widget" header. I find it hard to navigate here.

Kerry Reis (kerry_reis) | 14 comments Author dashboard, right side column, "Add Author Widget" link...

message 13: by C.J. (new)

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Okay, Author Dashboard, right side column, mine says "Author Widgets". When I click on that, the only choice I have is to add a "Reviews" Widget. I can click on that and I have to choose reviews which will show up on a website or blog. This will give me a code, but it is not the code I'm looking for. No drop down menu anywhere. I obviously don't have the same page you do.

message 14: by Kerry (new)

Kerry Reis (kerry_reis) | 14 comments Scroll down. The "Add to My Books" Widget follows the "Reviews" Widget. There is also a "Books" Widget following the "Add to My Books" Widget. Three major widgets, plus buttons.

message 15: by C.J. (new)

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments There is nothing on that page at all besides the "Reviews" Widget. Nothing but the Reviews Widget. I have a different page for some reason.

message 16: by Kerry (new)

Kerry Reis (kerry_reis) | 14 comments At this point, all I can say is refresh the page to see if it completes with the other two widgets. If that doesn't work, check with the Goodreads tech support to see why you are only seeing half a page.

C.J. Heck (cjheck62) | 31 comments Okay, thank you, Kerry. Sorry I've been such a PIA.
