I love Alpha Male books club discussion

This isn't a topic that people seem to be on the fence about...it's either a yes or a no! Can your alpha be involved in a menage or cheat?

Nope he can't!!! I've read books where this happens and it doesn't make any sense to me! If he's an alpha male, you're his, he's yours. The whole thing about an alpha is that he's possessive, how does sharing his woman make sense??? I've read books where the Hero will be like "it would make me so happy to see you pleasuring my friend!"

Menage, yes. Cheating, no. Ive read several menage books. They are hot! And they all seem to have the same underlying factor. One guy is always the alpha and controls the show. And it is never done without his woman's consent! It makes it that much hotter when the alpha is not only possesive and controlling his woman but also controling the other guy as well. To me, that makes him the ultimate alpha male! Cheating on the other hand is an asshole thing to do and our true alphas would never do that!!! If he did, he wouldn't be an alpha. He'd be a spineless asshat!!!

Gasp!!! My Alpha would not dare!!! He would be too obsessed with thoughts of his ever growing love for me (in my fantasy world) to even consider sharing or cheating. As a matter of fact he would maul and possibly dismember any woman or man that would even suggest it. I like them crazy that way (LOL).

Cheating is sooo out. I can read and write anything but that. Okay, wait a minute. I dislike it when the girl can't make up her mind between guys. So annoying.

Cheating no. A ménage on the other hand is consensual and FUN. I am with you Pam. Sharing is okay.

Ok Im not gonna lie here. Ive read several menagae books most are MFM but let me tell you, the hottest so far are the MMF. NEVER thought Id be caught dead reading something like that. But hey, what can I say? Well worth it! If you're curious, just read . That'll do it. Nuff said ;-)

MFM is 2 guys getting naughty with 1 chick at the same time. MMF is all three getting naughty with each other. MMF basically means the guys get just as naughty with each other as they do with her. As long as the story is well written and there's chemistry, its great. But Ive come across some that I couldn't finish because it was basically porn. If there's no love and chemistry, Im out.

You know, I have to weigh in here on cheating. If I could have a do-over, I would. My late husband and I had a very long affair while married to other people. I would not get involved in a situation like that again for anything. Cheating is wrong all the way around. I'm not proud of our affair by any means, but I can say that we truly did love each other. We should have married each other in the first place. Would I change it if I could? In a nanosecond. I'm 57 years old now and so much wiser.

No cheating and no ménage. To me the ménage is cheating. My Alphas do not want to look/touch/think about anybody else and would want to do bodily harm if anybody looked/touched/thought about the h.
I read a book once that I was loving....great Alpha male...great smex.....then towards the end he had to share the h. I wanted to beat my kindle against the wall. It ruined the book for me. I now read spoilers on all books before I decide to pick up the book.

Menage is no issue for me. Even if it's not a long term menage (a committed poly-amorous relationship) and just a one time menage I'm ok with it as long as all are aware and ok with it.

Cheating is a big No-No and I usually avoid books with any cheating. I've avoided a few books that people rave about because of the story containing cheating. It makes me feel like the hero or heroine is not worthy if they engage in cheating and I feel bad for the other person in the story if the other cheats on them.

I agree here, I know I said no sharing but Blindfolded Innocence was so hot, I was sweating and I was at work. It was actually embrassing. LOL.

I guess it all depends on how it's written for me. I'm not a big fan of ménage but have been able to get into stories where the alphas showed jealousy toward each other. The ménage was more a case of coming to a solution for the conflicted female, less "Babe, I can't have an orgasm unless five of my friends are there to watch" type of storyline (which I don't get).

I am kind of prone to forgive a well written alpha-hole anything so cheating isn't an automatic deal breaker. I don't necessarily want it in my book; but need my heroine to kick ass, take names, and make him miserable for it though. I don't want her attacking the other girl for it but not checking him at all.

Paganalexandria - valid point. Tit for tat. Absolutely make him miserable for it, too. I absolutely love the BDB series. When those vampires bond with a female, that's it. They love for life. My kind of alpha male!

Marilyn I guess because my favorites are bad boys. You never really know what a real bad boy will do. If I'm reading about a Mafia killer it's not out of my realm of possibility that he might cheat if he wanted to. I like when that guy is put into a position to sleep with someone else only to realize only the heroine does it for him. You already know his moral code is screwy because he is a killer (substitute any bad guy job) so fidelity for him has to benefit him in some way.

Ok those of you who think an alpha cant do menage...read Conviction by Nicole Edwards. That'll change your mind! Just finished it and let me tell ya, I dont think reading this in a walk in freezer would have cooled things down. Holy freaken hotness!!! Kristen Ashley certainly writes alphas like no other. But Nicole Edwards is a force to be reckoned with. She takes alphas to a whole new level ;-)

I do not know sometimes a triangle can be just as turning on. I read the Anita Blake series and I enjoyed each of her men and lover her with all of them. Of course she was succubus and needed several to keep her satisfied but I love that each of her men are Alpha's and she gets to be with all of them. However it has to be done tactfully as other books with triangles have turned me off.

I just read (well DNF-ed actually lol) Dual Embrace. It is right on with this topic. The hero is all Alpha and yet he is totally ok and turned on sharing his mate with a total stranger AND even gets some M/M action with him.... that was so wrong to me! I mean I can go with menage stories with alpha males sharing the same woman but usually they know each other. Here it was just wrong. I stopped reading right there...

I really can't or justified if an alpha to cheat. I think thats why we love alpha males because they are absolute their and they are yours. There is no sharing or menage. I love the idea of how a man can show possessive of what they consider as theirs. Also, I absolutely when an alpha says MINE to his female I find it hot.

I can't stand cheating. I have found a few menages where both alpha males are both solidly in the relationship and it worked for me. Cheating though...no way! :P

if he says your mine than vice versa and that's hot.
that's why this man trilogy fell apart for me Jesse shagged 4 other people when he was ment to be in love with ava, well then in my opinion he didn't truly love her.
but Christian, Gideon, Braden and Travis never cheated,strayed or even looked at another woman once they fell in love and would go postal if anybody even touched/looked there lady.
that's why i love those characters and alpha's in general. they meet there one and that's it for them
so for me i always avoid books with cheating in them.
as for menage it's basically agreed cheating so if that is what everybody wants.......but i have to say it turns me off of the book straight away and i will dnf it

Madeline Sheehan made me eat my opinion about rules concerning lead characters. Now my alpha can do almost anything if the writer is talented enough to pull it off. That doesn't mean they make my book boyfriend list, but they still might be my favorite characters.

I feel the exact same way! I hate cheating in books. I never read them, yet was a 5 star read for me and that book has rampant cheating and the characters are despicable IMO. The writing was so good though and any author who can evoke the kinds of feelings I had while reading the Undeniable series deserves the highest rating I can give them.

Eh...for me even good writing can't fix cheating...

Hell no to cheating and menage. If I come across either in a book, I don' go any further and toss the book.

If you cheat and you share, then you can't be categorized as an alpha.
