Karl (karlwireless) | 3 comments Is anyone earning badges? I have a few but can't seem to unlock any. I don't know why I care but I do!

I have 11 of 13. But it took me forever - and sone of them were "earned" by falling asleep while listening! I'm now religious about using the sleep timer :-)

message 3: by Tomerobber (new)

Tomerobber | 193 comments I have several devices and my complaint is that listening stats are not combined . . . each device only accumulates stats for what is listened to on that device.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

What I've noticed is that a glance at my library no longer tells me who the narrator was. Annoying when I want to experience a good narrator again.

I don't remember that there was a separate listing in the list view that showed the narrator on the webpage . . . but on my individual devices . . . the narrator IS listed.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmmm - on my iPad, it no longer says written by, narrated by - but maybe because I've sorted titles by author?

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh *blushes* switching to list view helped - thanks!

Your welcome . . .

Lynne | 8 comments Are we able to distinguish if we have read or listened to a book? I don't see where to do it, wish I could.

message 10: by Tomerobber (new)

Tomerobber | 193 comments I think this was mentioned somewhere here before but there is a User Guide available in the mobile app itself . . . if you click on the cog wheel icon (top left on iTouch and bottom left on iPad) under HELP & SUPPORT there is a link and if you touch on it it brings up the guide that can answer a lot of questions.

As far as being able to know which books you have already listened to . . . under cloud and device views if you have completed a book there is a horizontal line at the bottom of each entry that chg's to orange with the word finished that appears next to it when you have completed a book.

Karl (karlwireless) | 3 comments Still can't sync badges and time listened between devices or when you upgrade to a new device.

Hi Karl . . . that's one of my pet peeves as well. I have several iPads and iTouch devices and different audiobooks on each . . . but the listening stats aren't co-ordinated for all of them. On one it says I'm a newbie according to the number of hours listened ONLY for that device . . . while I have another device that says I'm a novice . . . and of course I listen to audiobooks from other providers than Audible as well . . . so the stats don't mean much to me.

ArtC | 5 comments I'm always amused that whenever I get a new device, or re-install an iOS, the only stat I get to keep is my "Stack" 500 books award! The rest, I need to start over with.

I make it my goal to get them all filled in at least to one level, and to get a "Master" level again before resetting of getting s new phone.
I usually have to force feed the Social Butterfly and Flash80 items to get a level.

Never have been able to get a "Mount Everest", though. And I know I've listened to at least a dozen books over 30 hours. The only thing I can think of I'd that you can't stop even a second short when the file ends, and all file parts must be on your device and filled in consecutively. I tend to delete the individual parts/files of a book as I finish them to save space. Diana Gaboldon can really suck up the storage space.

ArtC | 5 comments Does it irk anyone else that the cover art is not enlargeable, anymore? You get a big version with the navigation all over it, but when you go into "info", all you get is a tiny square.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, it does bother me. I don't want to see all the books they'd like me to buy - I want to see the book I actually bought!

Fran Wilkins | 830 comments Dear Audible,
I upgraded to iOS 7 this morning and I can no longer view where I am in a chapter. This is the one feature I checked constantly. I am sorely missing it unless I just don't know how to view it.
Hmpf.

There have been many complaints with this upgrade on the Apple support page . . . I personally don't like the changes and won't be upgrading with my current devices. If they come out with a new version of iPad mini . . . I'll probably be forced to change to iOS 7 . . . but I won't like it.

I actually like iOS7 a lot. More streamlined design, better notifications, better native e-mail, better calendar. And I've had no trouble with the Audible app. Fran, could you explain more precisely what you're no longer seeing?

In addition to the countdown of the entire length of audiobook, I used to be able to see where I was in the chapter I was listening to. Right now I'm listening to The Count of Monte Cristo that is broken down into 6 parts "to make the download easier". I was able to view the length of each chapter in the part I am currently listening to. Some chapters are as short as 15 minutes long and others are over an hour. It's like looking at how many pages are in the chapter you are about to sit down and read. Personally, I just like to know. I don't use the audible app for listening I use my iTunes app. I'll have to see if the audible app has this feature. I hope this makes sense. I'm off to explore the audible app. Everything else looks good as far as email, notifications, etc.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, that makes sense! Yes, the app has that feature :-)

Where? I can't find it. I'm calling audible . . . .
Thanks.

ArtC | 5 comments Tried to add a pic, but that's a no go in this forum. From my phone, anyway.

If you go to the App Store, Audible page, the second screen shot in shows you the apps working page.

In the top center you'll see how much time is left in the book part, as well as a bar that paces the current chapter for you. How much time you've listened is on the left, and time remaining is on the right.

The chapter marker information is unavailable for iPod library titles. I have to download it from the cloud to the audible app. Prior to this update I didn't have a problem. I'm working on it. Right now I only see how much time is left of the book part that is downloaded. Thanks though.
