Audible on iOS

I have 11 of 13. But it took me forever - and sone of them were "earned" by falling asleep while listening! I'm now religious about using the sleep timer :-)

What I've noticed is that a glance at my library no longer tells me who the narrator was. Annoying when I want to experience a good narrator again.

I don't remember that there was a separate listing in the list view that showed the narrator on the webpage . . . but on my individual devices . . . the narrator IS listed.
Hmmm - on my iPad, it no longer says written by, narrated by - but maybe because I've sorted titles by author?
Oh *blushes* switching to list view helped - thanks!

As far as being able to know which books you have already listened to . . . under cloud and device views if you have completed a book there is a horizontal line at the bottom of each entry that chg's to orange with the word finished that appears next to it when you have completed a book.

Hi Karl . . . that's one of my pet peeves as well. I have several iPads and iTouch devices and different audiobooks on each . . . but the listening stats aren't co-ordinated for all of them. On one it says I'm a newbie according to the number of hours listened ONLY for that device . . . while I have another device that says I'm a novice . . . and of course I listen to audiobooks from other providers than Audible as well . . . so the stats don't mean much to me.

I make it my goal to get them all filled in at least to one level, and to get a "Master" level again before resetting of getting s new phone.
I usually have to force feed the Social Butterfly and Flash80 items to get a level.
Never have been able to get a "Mount Everest", though. And I know I've listened to at least a dozen books over 30 hours. The only thing I can think of I'd that you can't stop even a second short when the file ends, and all file parts must be on your device and filled in consecutively. I tend to delete the individual parts/files of a book as I finish them to save space. Diana Gaboldon can really suck up the storage space.

Yes, it does bother me. I don't want to see all the books they'd like me to buy - I want to see the book I actually bought!

I upgraded to iOS 7 this morning and I can no longer view where I am in a chapter. This is the one feature I checked constantly. I am sorely missing it unless I just don't know how to view it.
Hmpf.

There have been many complaints with this upgrade on the Apple support page . . . I personally don't like the changes and won't be upgrading with my current devices. If they come out with a new version of iPad mini . . . I'll probably be forced to change to iOS 7 . . . but I won't like it.
I actually like iOS7 a lot. More streamlined design, better notifications, better native e-mail, better calendar. And I've had no trouble with the Audible app. Fran, could you explain more precisely what you're no longer seeing?

In addition to the countdown of the entire length of audiobook, I used to be able to see where I was in the chapter I was listening to. Right now I'm listening to The Count of Monte Cristo that is broken down into 6 parts "to make the download easier". I was able to view the length of each chapter in the part I am currently listening to. Some chapters are as short as 15 minutes long and others are over an hour. It's like looking at how many pages are in the chapter you are about to sit down and read. Personally, I just like to know. I don't use the audible app for listening I use my iTunes app. I'll have to see if the audible app has this feature. I hope this makes sense. I'm off to explore the audible app. Everything else looks good as far as email, notifications, etc.
Oh, that makes sense! Yes, the app has that feature :-)

Where? I can't find it. I'm calling audible . . . .
Thanks.

If you go to the App Store, Audible page, the second screen shot in shows you the apps working page.
In the top center you'll see how much time is left in the book part, as well as a bar that paces the current chapter for you. How much time you've listened is on the left, and time remaining is on the right.

The chapter marker information is unavailable for iPod library titles. I have to download it from the cloud to the audible app. Prior to this update I didn't have a problem. I'm working on it. Right now I only see how much time is left of the book part that is downloaded. Thanks though.
