Kandice | 4387 comments I agree that Insurgent was better than Allegiant, but not quite as good as Divergent.

I blew through the Twilight books, though and loved them all even as I felt the guilt of doing so!

Complicated...convoluted
Good, but complicated. Wireman is one of THE best characters ever. He's a "dandy in aspic". A truly quotable guy.

Also tackling Crime and Punishment.
It's slow going, not written in contemporary conversational English, but the story is pretty good.

Jeff (thelongwait) | 293 comments Halfway through IT and loving it. Also reading Inherent Vice by Pynchon which is really funny. And David Foster Wallace's unfinished novel The Pale King which is AMAZING and makes me sad he is gone. Next will be Gravity's Rainbow and Bloody Bess and the Doomsday Games. I like to have a range of bools going at once.

message 1712: by Margaret (new)

Margaret | 76 comments Truth is that this "trilogy" is a little bit difficult to catch one's attention right from the start. But it worth one more effort. It has it's own charm but it doesn't get to be breathtaking I m afraid.

message 1713: by Kandice (new)

Kandice | 4387 comments Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn which I am liking more than her others. It's funny and smart. I haven't gotten to the OMG parts yet, though.
