What did you think of Tom Sawyer? I've had that on my TBR list for ages but I never seem to get around to it.

Currently reading Under the Empyrean Sky by Chuck Wendig. Highly recommend his Blackbirds series. King fans will enjoy it.

Needful Things is great....bad movie though. I'm reading Dust by Hugh Howey.

I finished Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul, and Rock and Roll and The Devil's Bones. Now I'm reading Firestarter.

I'm a 1/4 way into nobody true by james herbert. this is my first since reading rats when I was 11, anyway so far so good

Love Firestarter thought it was rather underrated by King fans.It might not be an epic but it entertains which is the main reason I read books.

I love Herbert. It's ages since I read that one but I remember it was good.

Starting Night Shift. This will be the first time I've read a collection of short stories.

Night Shift is one of the best.

I started reading The Shining. So far, I like the Hallorann character. Every time I smell oranges, I'm going to get freaked out.

Just starting The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. Saw the movie recently and can't wait to see how it compares to the novel.

I think I'm about to start reading again as I've been inspired by another group who have just started reading The Dark Tower series.
I read this at least 10 years ago when it was first released I think so am a bit excited to be starting it again.

Thank you! I try not to read too fast, because I ordered the 5th one and I will be getting it in November. I don't like to wait too long between books ( and I am not sure when book 6 is out) ;)

I know what you mean!! I don't want to start mine yet, although if you wait to long in between books you forget some things especially with so many different story lines

Sometimes I wonder where he is taking the story and what crazy thing he is going to do next. To be honest he's pretty unpredictable, he chopped off the heads of many of my very fav characters so far hehehe... But at least I see Deanerys is still alive (who knows for how long though) :D

Yes, the events....didn't want to speak of specifics because I don't where you are in the book.

I have also seen the tv series, I know of some unfortunate things that happen from the show but in the book I am only 1/5 in so nothing too macabre yet :D

I agree.Night Shift is the best collection of King stories I have read.Some to look forward to are Quitters Inc., The Ledge,the last story is specially moving(I had forgotten its name) & a lot of others.It is the only collection of King stories that according to me can measure up to some of his best novels.There are also a couple of tales in that book that have a link with Salem's Lot.

Night Surf in this collection is my favorite short story by King .

I've only read the first story so far (i'm kinda slow due to university exams getting in the way) Jerusalem's Lot, and it was very good. It reminded me of 'Dracula'.

I love Night Surf. If I can remember correctly it is connected to the Stand as a short side piece of the story.

Well there you go, I never noticed the connection... maybe because I read Night Shift before I read The Stand.

I finished A Devil In The White City by Erik Lsrson last night. I've moved onto A Gane Of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

Stolen Prey by John Sandford. Just can't stop reading the "Prey" series.

I'm reading Different Seasons by King and still working on A Game of Thrones.
