June: The Colors of Royalty Mini Challenge

I'm guessing that blue counts on The List if not I will change it.

Hi Sarah, The cover on this looks more blue than purple to me. What do you think Kara?

Welcome aboard Diana. I have added you. Thanks for joining.

Goal: 4 books
Complete: 2 books

You're welcome Sarah. I don't have a problem with you repeating the challenge if you complete all four, as long as the second time around is still completed by the 30th June 2013. I'll ask Kara for clarification though.
Note to Kara: Is it alright to repeat this challenge a second time within the month?

If I have enough time I will add a fourth book:

Purple:
Blue:
***** Lois Lowry - Number the Stars, 06/04
Yellow:
**** Kristin Hannah - The Things We Do For Love, 06/10
Red:

Could this count as yellow?

Yes Danielle, I'll accept it for Yellow. It's a yellowy beige.

I'll count it for purple Shelly. It looks like a bluey purple but then computers can make distinct colours look muted due to the way that colours are resolved on the screen

Thanks Robyn. I have adjusted your goal. Thanks for letting me know.

Oops Lianne. I'm really sorry for not adding you earlier. I've added you now. Once again I apologise.

Purple:

Updated your tally Lianne. Well done on completing your first book.

I read my first book for this challenge.
For purple:

My copy of this book is very definitely purple. It doesn't look that purple on this GRs one.
I've finished a book that I think will suit the blue category.

For yellow:

Not sure if I'll get a 4th one in before the end of the month, but
I'll see.
Update: I just managed to sneak my final book in last night (the 30th June 2013). It was a red covered book.

Books mentioned in this topic

Different cultures have different colors to symbolize royalty. In the West, it's purple or "royal blue." In China, it's yellow. For Aztecs, the color red was a symbol of authority.
For June's challenge, read one book for each color (purple, blue, yellow, red). The book's cover must be more than 50% that color.
(You can decide to not go for all four. Just let us know how many your goal is.)

Zara will be our leader for this challenge. Thank you, Zara!
