soooo this one is tomorrow and how are we planning on doing this?

it's FREAKING HUGE so I wont be finishing it in a day or two, seeing I have other books to read too but I'd like to have it done by the 13th I guess. that's just my preference though.

WOW I had no idea how massive this was! I agree with the 13th though. There are 65 chapters, and on that schedule we'd need to do 13 chapters a day (LOL 13 to be finished by the 13th)

Anyways, the breakdown would be:
Day 1: A Late-Summer Evening - The Hearts of Men
Day 2: Things Not Said - Life and Death
Day 3: The House on the Hill - The Tombs
Day 4: Pack Up Your Troubles - Everything Will Be Fine
Day 5: A Goodly Heritage - Sitting on Top of the World

What does everyone think about that? Probably around 120ish pages per day. As always, read at your pace and come check in at these points!

I'm really excited for this one too! I didn't know it was creepy/scary though, just historical fiction/romance so now I'm super anxious for it!! :)

Yeah I haven't started either. I had to go get me a new phone today after work and trying to catch up on some TV shows with my kids, but I'll start for sure tomorrow. I'm off work all day! Yay!!! :)

Isaiah - maybe Psychic. is reading cards Sisiter Walker (Memphis' little brother)

Sam - can push minds to make people not see him, becomes "invisible"

Henry - yes, he "walks in dreams" - I don't know what that means yet....

Theta - is having the same dream as Memphis

Blind Bill - is ALSO having this dream?!?! is he a guardian or an other ?? lol

Jericho - had a fever when he was a kid too. he definitely has a role here. we just don't know what yet!!!

Sister Walker - reading cards with Isaiah, has a "file"?

Miss Proctor - she met Evie and Mabel outside Mabel's house. they seem to know what's going on - her description was scary.

Miss Lillian - told the ghost story about the house to Mabel and Evie (blood red lipstick on her teeth - eesh!)

Miss Adelaide - she called Evie "One of them" and "after the fever their were the paupers".

Jericho - I think he might be. I don't understand what it means that he sounds altered - something was "done to him"....sounds bad though. Kind of Jekyl and Hyde kind of thing...

Unc or Mr. Fitzgerald - maybe? he has the museum and all the old relics and is called in to know the strange cult parts of the murder

Evie (view spoiler)[ i love how funny she is. and I normally don't like the twenties speak (because I don't normally understand the slang and sayings) but this book is easy to understand. And Evie is a spitfire! LOL! She's a crazy girl! (hide spoiler)]

Mabel (view spoiler)[ I can't help but wonder how she plays into all this. I hope she isn't killed :( Hopefully she will have a power! (hide spoiler)]

Memphis (view spoiler)[ I really like him so far too. but I can't help but wonder - is his power really gone or is he just not capable of bringing the dead back. I'm assuming his mom died and he couldn't save her... (hide spoiler)]

Isaiah (view spoiler)[ poor guy, he sounds little and yet he has such strong power that they have to hide from the crazy aunt. She seems to have known about the power stuff from when Memphis was young. (hide spoiler)]

The writing in this book is wonderful!

I'm at The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse right now, but I'll try to catch up tonight.

I wasn't a fan of Memphis' storyline until we just learned that he's (view spoiler)[a healer. (hide spoiler)] At least the story is starting to make sense! But I'm also at the point where I kind of want the stories to pick up and intertwine already. I feel like at almost 100 pages in I'd like the stories to somehow connect. I guess I'm just at a slow point xD

But the scene with Ruta is CREEPY. I knew there was trouble the second that story started...

Also - I absolutely adore Evie. I need someone like her in my life.

The next book isn't out before next year and there are so many storylines and lots of information so I'm loving how you're typing up things Trisha! It'll be great to be able to pop into this thread before reading the sequel next year, to refresh our memory!

I couldn't get into it last night, I don't know what was wrong with me! I'm going to try again later today. :)

I've been reading like three chapters a day so right now I am the chapter : Passing Stranger.
I really like it so far!

(hide spoiler)] I'm so shocked and just CREEPED OUT. This book is really good, like really good. Even though lots of info is being dumped on us, surprisingly enough I'm indulging it all well!!

I haven't been able to get into it very much. So it will probably take me a while to get through. But I'll keep trying! lol! :)

okay so I just finished it and wow, I didn't even notice I was done till I reached the author's note page. SO much happened, but I'm left with SO many questions especially the way it ended? (view spoiler)[I just can't believe there's more to come? The storm is coming? ahhhh!!(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Hmm. I still don't know what to think of this book. It isn't that I don't like it, because I am enjoying it. Maybe I'm just reading it at a way slower pace than I usually do and that's making it feel slow and sluggish to me.

I'm at page 180. Still not loving Memphis' story line ((view spoiler)[except what is up with Isaiah? What's his supernatural power? (hide spoiler)]), but I'm really enjoying how Evie's is heating up. Sam Lloyd still gives me the creeps, though. Such a little rat.

Ok it's getting better, it's still a little slow and I just can't read it when the TV is on. I only seem to lose myself in it when it's quiet and then it goes faster.

And I'm liking it now, it's really creepy! Naughty John reminds me of the bad guy (the Obeahman) from ! So creepy!

The slang takes a little getting used to, but it's not bad. Some of it is a little corny and how!! lol!

I love Evie and Memphis! I'll read more later, the kids and my husband are getting ready to watch NCIS!! :)

I'm at Operation Jericho now - the story is picking up now!! I love the murder mystery angle and the Brethren conspiracies... very cool.
