What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi! I read this book in 1991 or 1992 and I'd love to find it and read it again.

The heroine of the book is a woman who is sucked into an alternate dimension by either being pushed or falling down a hill. In this alternate dimension she discovers she has telepathic abilities. She is taken in by telepathic (or somehow magical) twins/ brother and sister who teach her the language of the land she finds herself in. She goes on a quest to find a way back home (I think) and is joined by some other interesting characters. There is a young woman of a race of people who are all supposed to be beautiful and artistic, but she is ugly and has trained to be a warrior. This character has a male love interest who is of a warrior race/class. There is another male of the warrior class who has no courage and is artistic. Then there is a female shape shifter who joins their group. They all end up meeting the trickster god who made them the way they are. The trickster gives the artistic warrior the courage he has always lacked. The ugly female warrior becomes beautiful, and the telepathic heroine is sent home. When she gets back to this dimension she finds herself in an airport and discovers that she can still hear the thoughts of other people.
