Happy to stick my hand up for captain since I'm in Australia which is pretty close to Japan time unless someone else is keen :P
Suggestions for team names:

Unlucky in love
Will try to think of more today....

Kerstin:

Belinda, I'm happy for you to be captain ;)
Names:
According to Wiki 13 is a Happy Number. LOL
Lucky Cat
I think we used Black Cat before
13 Assassins (movie)
I think I'm partial to 13 Assassins. LOL.

Stephanie, haven't we been on the same team in one of the previous rounds?
Belinda, I'm also happy for you to be captain. Looks like there's quite a few of us from Australia.
I'm terrible with names, but here I go:
Thrilling Thirteen
... ok, apparently I could only come up with one name. Will try to think of a few more.

Belinda, I am happy to call you captain. Thanks for raising your hand.
I am in Ohio so we are all over the map.
So far, I don't have anything to add for a team name. I'll think about it or just go ahead and pick one.
I like Lucky 13 or 13 Assassins.

I think lucky 13 has been used a few times. How about we call ourselves the book assassins? Or reading assassins? Fixated on the assassin part....lol!

I couldn't rhyme 13 - all I got was spleen or unforeseen. Clearly - I'm out of creative juice. The Foxy Spleen 13's doesn't really do it.
Belinda, as my captain I give you my proxy to select a suitably intimidating name for our team if I am not online.

Have a go and see what you come up with :DD

Shall we stick to 13 assassins or book assassins since those two seem to be popular?

I think we should stick with the Assassin theme though, I really like it.

And has anyone decided on a Free Space book yet?
Just to remind everyone, Free Space Rules
I'm still deciding. LOL

I think I like book assassins for a team name but will go with what everyone's happy with.
Not long now til the first shelf I'd called!!
Shelf. Shelf! SHELF!!

Not sure yet about my Free Space book...I have a couple of titles in mind though.
Just letting you all know that I won't be able to pop in tomorrow morning when the shelf is announced, as I have a workshop to attend to, but will let you know my shelf choice as soon as I get back home.

I hope this is just as good as her others.
I normall don't give any other thought to the books until the shelf is picked.
Reign of Assassins sounds good and menacing!

And sounds like we're going with reign of assassins for a team name? If you could 'aye' when you pick a book this morning we'll put in our name request when I get up :)

I'm going with

I am just finishing up the first book in this series and think I like where it is going.

Pretty much one of the only books that I own that I haven't already read. Though the ones I have read that I do own that are on there were very very good. A couple of my most favorite books are on this list =)

Week 1: Assassins
Deep Dark Secret by Sierra Dean
Book #3 in the Secret McQueen Series
4/6/13 ★★★★
Secret is slowly adjusting to becoming one of the 3 Vampire Tribunal Leaders, but still misses The Hunt for the bad guys. I guess that is the werewolf in her coming out.
Lucas is having political Werewolf Pack issues with Secret's long lost Uncle, who wants to take over the Eastern seaboard Packs. Desmond is caught in the middle and Holden is still stuck on the outside.
Holden asks Secret to help find missing were-ocelot Lucy and this leads to more missing Columbia University girls and corpses. Luckily Mercedes and Tyler call her in to help cause they've got Gabriel, Secret's ex, for the crimes.
Secret has stumbled across something very nasty indeed.
Lots of convoluted action and a real stunner of an ending.

I'm not very far into my book yet, as the past couple of days have been very busy, but I'm liking it so far...I'm planning to get stuck into it tonight...I just need to leave the computer alone for a while :)

Kerstin, I read your free space pick and really liked it. It was a fun easy read. The whole series is good.
Sandra, I haven't read any of the Secret McQueen books. If you are on book 3-they must be good.

I've decided on

Free Space
From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris
Book #8 in the Sookie Stackhouse Series
5/6/13 ★★★★
Well this was action packed, from weddings to were wars, Debbie Pelt plots to Vampire takeovers and a berserk bodyguard.
Quinn has disappeared without a trace, Bob is still a cat, and Sookie ends up in Halleigh's wedding party as a substitute bridesmaid.
Bill seems intent on trying to win back Sookie, without any success whatsoever. And Eric somehow regains all his lost memories of his time at Sookies, including the shower scene.
Just to add to the mix of Weres and Vampires, Sookie's long lost Great Granddaddy appears, and surprise, surprise he's Fae. And Claudine is a cousin of sorts, which is why she pops in to rescue Sookie frequently.
When Quinn turns up in the presence of bad vamps, he gets the flick from Sookie cause she just can't handle him not putting her first. Which is fair enough.
Amelia ends up inviting her mentor Octavia to stay, so Sookie's house is getting rather full, and she's not too happy about that.
We see a lot more of Sam, as well as seeing him turn into a lion to defend Sookie.
Whilst a lot of loose ends were cleaned up, new possibilities for the future appear, with both the Weres and Vamps offering huge favours, as well as her Great Granddaddy the Prince doing so as well.

Week 1: assassins:

finished: 6/6/13
stars: 4 & half
review:
Aside from the slight reparative nature of the author this is a great series! I'm loving all the characters and this one starts off straight into the action! The plotting and scheming cone next followed by a huge showdown at the end. Can't wait to see what happens next!
P.S. I'll start listing a summary of everyone's reviews with links so we can get stamped in post 2. i'll you could all just check it periodically and let me know if there are any issues :)
