After reading so many positive reviews on Angelfall, I was surprised that I didnt really enjoyed. One of the few books that I didn't like the main male character.

Dalia | 71 comments I know you all may hate me,but I don't appreciate classic literature AT ALL!! I'm forced to read Jane Eyre for school this year and I just can't,I simply memorize the summary of the chapters when I read them online. The book is just sad, annoying and awful so far.

And I tried to read Delirium. Apparently,5 chapters was the best I could handle when I'm 100% sure there's a love story somewhere in it even when love is considered an "illness" in that book.

message 256: by Erica (new)

Erica (ericaevernight) Don't worry Dali, I secretly hate classics too but only because I really don't like required reading, it loses all of the fun

I wanted to burn it.

message 260: by Erica (new)

Erica (ericaevernight) When we read Les Miserables by victor Hugo I almost did. It was a good book but on every chapter we had to do summaries and just imagine.... That took forever.

Shadowhunter's Library (shadowhunters-library) | 132 comments I haven't read Beautiful Creatures (but I have the first book and I want to at least read that), and I also haven't read the House of Night, but I'm not going to read it because there are soooooooo many books.

I hate Gone (by Michael Grant).

message 268: by Mariah (new)

Mariah Voorhees | 5 comments Beautiful creatures wasn't horrible horrible. It just did not catch my attention like other books. So I didn't even bother with the rest. HoN I kept hoping it would get better do I kept reading the next book but then it just got ridiculous. They story line and the amount of books.

message 269: by Rita (new)

Rita (anarittafp) Same with House of Night - I don't hate it but the plot kept getting more and more confusing and weird and I stopped at the 6th book, I think. There are 10 or 11, I think, it's such a looong series!

message 270: by [deleted user] (new)

Beautiful Creatures was horrible.

I couldn't agree more!!! A HORRIBLE series - makes me SO mad just thinking about how much time I wasted on it >:(

message 275: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (reads4fun730) | 718 comments 1. New Moon- I'm not a Twilight fan to begin with and I still cannot believe I finished this book
2. Hush, Hush- So bad I didn't even make it half way.
3. Beautiful Creatures- I really liked the first and second books but after that... just terrible.
4. Eve- Still cannot believe I finished such a terrible book.
5. ( don't kill me) The Divergent Series - I loved Divergent even though Tris isn't one of my favorite female leads, however, I found Insurgent to be boring and Allegiant just ruined everything I wanted to love about this series.

message 279: by Sara (new)

Sara Campbell (admiralawesome) | 28 comments Insurgent is very boring. Only in the last 100 pages does it pick up a little.

message 280: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (pearapple) | 297 comments Yeah, I can't believe I own both Insurgent and Allegiant...

message 282: by Sara (new)

Sara Campbell (admiralawesome) | 28 comments Insurgent also isn't written as well as Divergent. I'm confused about many events in the book because I don't feel they were explained very well. I was very disappointed in the book. Hopefully, the movie will be better than the boom.

message 283: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (pearapple) | 297 comments Yeah, she added so many characters it was hard to tell them apart and after finishing Insurgent I still didn't know what the "good" side was! I just had to blindly trust that "Tris knows best"

message 284: by Sara (new)

Sara Campbell (admiralawesome) | 28 comments book**

And yes, I agree. That is mainly what confused me the most. I didn't know which side was which and who was on each side and why they were on that side. There was a lack of thorough explaining when there shouldn't have been considering the almost the entire book was explaining details instead of action.

message 285: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (pearapple) | 297 comments And Tris coming up with idiotic plans to get everyone killed and herself, and joining up with Marcus, the guy who beat her boyfriend. I mean what possessed her to trust him?

message 286: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (reads4fun730) | 718 comments For me everything with the Divergent series goes downhill the more Tris falls for Four. Everything starts to get ridiculous. For starters they've only know each other a short period of time. Insurgent is confusing at best not to mention boring. I think what frustrates me the most about ya fiction is the female leads obsession/ dependency on a male lead. Stereotypically this guy will be a mysterious a-hole with a dark past that no one would actually like in real life let alone stake their life on.

message 287: by Dalia (new)

Dalia | 71 comments Forced reading is just irritating, especially when the novel itself is terrible,Erica. Almost all the novels we had to read at school were those classic, depressing ones with a sad beginning about the main characters's abused life and I can hardly tolerate reading those kind of novels, much less study them!

message 288: by [deleted user] (new)

message 289: by julia (new)

julia (julianevergrowup) Twilight. New Moon. Eclipse. Breaking Dawn. They're all terrible.

message 290: by julia (new)

message 291: by julia (new)

julia (julianevergrowup) yeah... the movies are REALLY bad :)

message 292: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (reads4fun730) | 718 comments I would take the Twilight movies over the books everyday. The pain ends faster. Lol

message 293: by Erica (new)

message 298: by Amy (new)

Amy (amii_1218) I HATED the Need series by Carrie Jones (I'm the only person that I know of who didn't like it, which really confuses me). The two main characters literally fell in love within a couple of days, which is incredibly annoying. I hate it when people take the classic idea of a werewolf and turn it into something completely different. I mean, I hated the whole "weres are people who can turn into any animal whenever they feel like it" idea. I don't know, I just hate when a classic idea is changed so dramatically like that. Also, I didn't find this series to be the least bit exciting. Two hours after I finished each book, I had already forgotten what happened. And even though these books aren't very big, it took me several weeks to read each one. even though it took me so long to read, not a lot happened in them. I found them to be terribly dragged out.
I don't know. It seems like I'm the only person in the world with these opinions, so maybe I'm wrong.

message 299: by Juliet (new)

Juliet | 345 comments The Matched Series :/
The first one was OK but it just went downhill from there. Book 2 was so boring and I couldn't read the third book.

Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie Reached (Matched, #3) by Ally Condie

message 300: by Amy (new)

Amy (amii_1218) I received Matched by Ally Condie as a Christmas gift from my sister and I had really enjoyed it. I gave it a 4/5 stars. I then proceeded to Buy the next two books together, thinking I would marathon them since the first was so good. I read Crossed (usually a book this size would take me about 4-6 days to complete. It took me almost 2 months). I gave Crossed a 2.5/5 stars, which made me so sad! I have yet to read Reached because I had such a terrible experience with Crossed. Not sure when I'll get around to actually reading it. It will probably be quite a while. :(
