Robin and I were just discussing this, and trying to pin down a definition of a romantic crush and how it differentiates from love, infatuation, etc. What do you think?

It sure is..
I guess a "crush" is what you call the person you like when you start liking them...and some time after, too. But when you love someone, you don't call them a "crush". A "crush" seems like a not-too-serious form of describing the person you like, whereas when you love someone or when you're obsessed with someone, it's on a deeper level.

Agreed, I think love is more serious than a crush.

I also think you can love someone without them I suppose loving you back, or knowing you love them. As bad or odd as that sounds

Also I always thought of it as a crush is before you start going out with whoever it is, love is more afterwards.

I think times tells how much you eventually fall for someone.

I use crush very lightly--it pretty much means, for me, that I think someone is attractive and has a cute personality, but it doesn't mean that I actually want to be with them romantically. However, this obviously isn't the case for most people.
