Cynthia (softpetals37) | 1 comments Just ordered a copy of "The Beloved Daughter" written by Alana Terry. I am sooo looking forward to this read after having a taste of it's contents, a "look inside." "The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd will be the very next... I only needed to read the first paragraph to develop a craving for this read. (Her style of writing is quite similar to my very own). '-)

Okwudili Iloka (oqudili) | 2 comments Hello Guys,

I am Okwudili Iloka, I'm happy to be here.

For Christians who feel that the religion of Christianity isn't offering the original inspiration that came from Jesus himself, you are not alone... Christ himself has something to say about that and here in this book, Christ inspires the christian world to rethink their exclusive doctrines and embrace the true gospel he preached.

Dear friends, get copies for yourself and your friends and recommend this book to any christian who needs their spiritual worldview adjusted.

Once again, im glad to be here, let's get connected, Thanks :)

Dear Christian A Letter From Christ by Okwudili Iloka

It really gets to you doesn't it? I found her voice so strong, yet so lost at times and I felt so frustrated due to the better treatments we have nowadays. I was so happy and relieved when the character made it out alive, with just hopes about the bell jar never to descend again.

But of course knowing that later on she stuck her head in the oven really makes you think so hard about the intensity of depression that she fought with for most of her adult life. What a strong person she must have been to survive what she did and to try so hard to rebuild her life. Such an incredible shame that the bell jar did in fact descend again and this time no one found her in time to help her.

message 948: by Angela M (new)

Angela M May ,
I am enjoying it ! It is a challenge, though . I don't know enough about The Odyssey or the references to Aristotle and other classical works so trying to figure those out is work .
I was an English major as well and having read The Dubliners and Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man made me want to finally get to it
I'm determined to read it . Will I love it like you ? Too early to tell . :-)

Tina (wrtrforkner) | 6 comments Hi, Angela: If you like historical novels, I loved Susan Meissner's A Fall Of Marigolds, about two women in different time periods. It is set in New York and flashes back and forth from today and historical events on Ellis Island. It beautifully ties in 9-11 with the past in a story that is unforgettable and heartwarming. Just my thoughts!A Fall of Marigolds
