May (mayzie) | 589 comments Angela, I'm feeling like I need to reread TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD before I read ASK THE WATCHMAN. Was that your thought, also?

message 1530: by Angela M (new)

Angela M May , yes that's why I reread it but I almost wish I had read GSAW first and then did the reread of TKAM since it was the book that became TKAM if we are to believe what we read about it. Having said that , I loved every word of it again.

Set in North Korea, this book created a unique look into a country which has little insight. I was enjoying it through the first section, but by the second, I was toiling through just to finish. Overall- it was ok.

I liked it. It's a collection of short stories but the stories are some how connected to one another. It was a great plane-ride read! But I think "The Local Girls" I read is different from what you read. Mine was by Alice Hoffman.
