I also was reading it for a book club that is meeting on April 16th - can't wait to discuss it.
I stayed up late last night to finish it and I just loved it but I agree, it IS shocking.
I have three grown daughters and I want all of them to read it - any time a kid complains how rough they have it their parent should give them that book to read.
I was so angry at her parents - I cannot fathom how people bring children into this world and then are so selfish. Her parents never once put the welfare of their children first - truly horrible.

I read those back to back too. Then I read I Am Mary Sutter. It was my strong woman movement!!"
The Kitchen House is one of my favorites!

I just finished "A Woman's Choice", the story of a young girl who immigrated from Ireland to NYC w her mother. The story shares her dreams and challenges as grows up. I really enjoyed it. Perfect for the plane trip!

But my next book is going to be The Luminaries

ah, this is on my TBR list as well!

I would love to do a buddy read on Luminaries. End of April or some time around then would be great, so I too can request from
Library and not sure how long the wait is. My reading is list is pretty full until next month anyway.

The books are both due to be released soon. I can't wait to begin reading them!!

Hello May,
Delighted that you enjoyed it!
Annie Thomas

I have that book! I was reading The Dark Tower Series by Steven King!

May, I checked your TBR list as well - you haven't read The Goldfinch yet - you will love it! (so that is my 2 cents - lol)

I am also on the waiting list at the library for Goldfinch. I read so many good review about it, and can't wait to get my hands on the book!

That's on my to read list! After reading your review I better move it up on my list and read it soon.

I felt like we, the readers, had been led on & sold out.

How is Frog Music? I have it on my list but not sure if I need to hurry & get it!

Wow - you're really ahead of the curve. This just came out this week in hardcover. Good for you, can't wait for your review as she is one of my favorites!
Happy reading :) :)
