There are prizes, and it is being done in conjuction with Karen McTavish. Here's her blog - http://freemotionquiltingadventures.b...

Karen Lowe | 66 comments Lovely blog, thanks for the link - will definitely have to practise that. It's very 'me' - I'm always doodling ladies with long flowing hair!

Diane (dcl55) | 17 comments I really enjoy to practice the 'art of' McTavishing! I used to have her DVD and books and then passed them along to friends.
It is a very cool free motion quilting style!
Enjoy!

Lorie Kleiner Eckert (loriekleinereckert) | 4 comments i have been quilting for 30 years. when i first started it was a crime and a sin to even machine piece quilt tops and machine quilting was an even bigger no-no. how amazing that we have come this far in 30 years to the place where machine quilting is an ART! i have not yet started machine quilting (except for quilt in the ditch which i do all the time) but i plan to start soon. so much to learn!!! mctavishing? i am not quite there yet!!!

Carole at From My Carolina Home For International Quilt Day, March 15 and 16, The Quilt Show on the web will have all their videos free. This is the site that is run by Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson. Usually the videos are only accessible by paid subscription, so get your fill today and tomorrow!! Not affiliated, yada yada.

And see my post today on my blog for my first quilt, favorite quilt, and last quilt for Quilt Day

Carole at From My Carolina Home I'm still not very good at McTavishing, even after a month of practice, LOL!! Oh well, on to other things. I am doing a four part series on my blog on binding. I also did the April block for the BOM on the blog, but it won't get written up until next week.

Lorie, I remember Gammill being at the state fair in the 1980s, so it was starting to change then. There will always be the hand quilt faction, but now, all are welcome. Thank heaven. I have tried hand quilting and there is just no way that is happening!!
