Class of 2013 discussion

"Finding Miracles" by Julia Alvarez is a Hispanic book about a high school girl is trying to find out who she really is and whether her birth parents are still alive. I was able to relate since we are both Mexican. i understood why she didn't want to people to know she was adopted and was shocked at the decision she made. I would recommend this book to teenagers who like Hispanic books. Julia Alvarez has written other Hispanic books such as "How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents" and "Once Upon A Quinceanera: Coming of Age in the USA". She's won the Vermont Governor's Award. How would you the news of being adopted? Would you want to go searching for your birth parents.
