NOTE: I have not read this book completely as of this posting.
Spoilers: Heather Wells is a former teen pop sensation who, after having her fiance cheat on her, losing her music contract, and having her mom steal all her savings and flee to south america, gets a job as a resident assistant in a college dorm (I mean residence hall). Heather gets to know college girls well and when a girl dies mysteriously in an elevator shaft she has some insights that the police might not. She becomes seriously involved when another girl is found dead later - in the same way. She is in love with her ex-fiance's brother, who is a private investigator, and with him she tries to solve the crime. The book falls very squarely in the chick-lit category, as Heather Wells, the narrator, has a very angsty and chick-centered approach to her writing, which I found very annoying. This book would do well for girls (and probably girls only) who like mystery, and giggling, and talking with their friends.
