Keith | 15 comments Hi
I've just had the idea of posting teasers of my new book (out next week) on Facebook. I posted two quite lengthy extracts on the FB Fan page I've created for the book.

Is there anywhere on Goodreads where you can do that, and if not, how would you go about setting up a group for it? It strikes me that it might be a good place to drop hints about your book and provide some idea of how it's written, rather than just be a straightforward advert: Hi, I'm Keith, my book is blah, and it's out on blah-di-blah ... sort of thing.

Harper Sloan (harper_sloan) | 9 comments I've found that posting teasers on blog posts here on GR have been very successful. Hope that helps.

Tabitha McGowan (tabithamcgowan) | 5 comments Yup, I would agree - I've used my blog for that, and it's been a real success. I used FB to tell people, and it drew more traffic to my GR page. :)

Kathleen Maher (kathleenmaher) | 3 comments Good to know. I've been putting up "quotes," from Diary of a Heretic. It seemed all right because in the diary, Malcolm's expressions of every day life often take an extreme (and to me funny)turn of phrase.
Posting them on a blog, however, would work much better. As it is, the quotes go up somewhat like: "thus says, 'Kathleen Maher' in Diary of a Heretic." When any quote from me (even via Malcolm) runs parallel, I think, to: Mom's Words of Wisdom.
I still like the quotes and will leave them up. (Or perhaps I'll take them down. Who knows?) But I will be so very much more comfortable running them on a blog. The difference saves me from posing as an authority when in fact I'm merely a book's author.
