This is the place to introduce yourself, and write anything you like about... you, your life, or whatever's on your mind at the moment.

Leesia Champion | 1 comments Hi, Nathan. I am Leesia Champion, a paranormal writer, and the only author to have written about a vampire-dog. I love supporting my hometown, by setting most of my books in it. Sparta, Tn. Thank you for inviting me.

Tanya Peterson (tanyajpeterson) Hi everyone! I'm Tanya J. Peterson, and I'm a mental health writer and speaker. I have a mental health blog on my website (http://www.tanyajpeterson.com), and I have written a novel entitled Leave of Absence that was published in April, 2013. The novel is about mental illness (I won't bog down this message with specifics, but it's here on GR, including on this group's bookshelf -- thanks, Nathan). I have both a personal and professional background that motivate me to write about mental illness. I have a degree in counseling and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (but I'm not actively working as a counselor at the moment). I also have bipolar 1 disorder and various anxiety difficulties including social anxiety. I'm currently writing a second novel, very different from Leave of Absence but also about mental illness (among other things, the main character has avoidant personality disorder, an extreme form of social anxiety. It's not an autobiography, but my own experiences with social anxiety are helpful in writing this story!)

P.J. LaRue Hi everyone! I'm PJ LaRue. I'm a children's book writer. I've chosen to write happy stories that include safety tips for children.

My parents were divorced when I was 15, but not before I saw my alcoholic father physically and mentally abuse my mother and sometimes my brother.

I understand that there are many levels of a "broken spirit or mind." But I believe there is help available if one will seek it, and I believe that my past does not have to make my present and my future unpleasant.

I look forward to chatting with you.
