Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Hey Everyone,
After a year of it's introduction and creation on my site, the Chamber of Horrors is complete. The gallery contains 50 of Horror's most prestigious and horrendous people both real and fictional. Actors, directors, film characters, serial killers and even several women all are members of the exclusive club. Check it out and witness the fearsome group for yourself.

*The Chamber is open once more for submissions. Recommend only the finest and fitting.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments I am looking to induct a new member into the Chamber of Horrors, I will listen to nominees. Lets say 4 mentions will get the person in. Nominees anyone?

message 3: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) I nominate Pennywise the Clown. I re watched IT recently and he's a fantastic character. Even better in the book, of course, but Tim Curry does a great job with him.

message 4: by Lee (new)

Lee Cushing | 97 comments Christopher Lee

Michael Brookes (technohippy) Lee wrote: "Christopher Lee"

Good choice.

message 6: by Shaun (new)

Shaun Horton | 324 comments Pennywise, definitely. For being so widely recognized, it's a shame he is often left out on lists of the "new classic" horror monsters and villains.

message 7: by Ian (new)

Ian McClellan | 540 comments George Romero

David Haynes | 3257 comments Michael wrote: "I nominate Pennywise the Clown. I re watched IT recently and he's a fantastic character. Even better in the book, of course, but Tim Curry does a great job with him."

Both Pennywise and Christopher Lee should be there. Glad you've got Vincent Price in.

message 9: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Very nice suggestions, totally didn't see Pennywise coming. One more nominee and he's in and I know just the picture for him too..it's creeping me out just thinking about it lol.

Ken B | 6810 comments I am at the office and your page got blocked by our filter! Must be good! Will check it out from home!

message 11: by Holly (new)

Holly (goldikova) Christopher Lee

message 12: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Ken- I didn't think it was but clearly the content must be suggestive enough to get it blocked!

Christopher Lee and Pennywise both tied at 3. Next nominee by either will induct them.

message 13: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments I have added a new Slideshow feature to the top of the page. It shows the person with a brief caption but you can still read up on them below with a regular pic.

Christopher Lee, Pennywise likely next to go on the list along with my inductee Edgar Allan Poe

message 14: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments 4 New entrees will be inducted into the Chamber of Horrors...Pennywise, Christopher Lee, Edgar Allan Poe and Boris Karloff

message 15: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) Good choices all.

message 16: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Chamber of Horrors has been updated with three new members, Edgar Allan Poe, Christopher Lee and Pennywise

message 17: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments So if you go to the page you'll notice Pennywise doesn't have a bio. This is because of two reasons, one I read about the character and couldn't think of how to put it into words and two I'm debating whether or not he should stay. He is more of a child molester and I don't think that goes over too well. I understand he is a character but I don't know..is it too much? ehh I'm conflicted

message 18: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) Technically he's a child killer. Dracula was also a sexual predator, it's part of what makes them evil.

message 19: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Hmm..so I suppose he can stay then.

message 20: by Chris (new)

Chris (bibliophile85) anyone who thinks that piece of garbage IT miniseries was good does not deserve to call themselves a real fan of horror.

Right then, I vote for Christopher Lee as well. His portrayal of Lord Summerisle in "The Wicker Man" is not something to miss.

message 21: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) Grammar Goebbels wrote: "anyone who thinks that piece of garbage IT miniseries was good does not deserve to call themselves a real fan of horror.

Pennywise was an excellent charcter and well played, although I'll agree the mini series overall wasn't great, it was worth watching just for him.

message 22: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments It's settled then Pennywise stays. I'll make up his bio tonight. You know I didn't know Tim Curry played him or the guy from Rocky Horror Picture Show? That guy has played some characters!

message 23: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments I added Pennywises Bio and also changed the titles color and added something else...

message 24: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Just added a woman to the Chamber of Horrors, Elizabeth Bathory. What a flippin psychopath she was like holy crap!

message 25: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments So I will be taking considerations for two more inductees into the Chamber of Horrors.
I am curious to see if anyone can think of any more women I could add. While no one will top Elizabeth Bathory I am interested in seeing if anyone can find another. Nominees anyone?

message 26: by Hudson (new)

Hudson (bostonrich) | 47 comments Vlad Tepes? You could provide a quick explanation of how people were crucified back then. Trust me....you would want to be nailed to wood if you knew the alternative! ps Did you post about how Bathory would make living statues? Read that somewhere, that she would pour water over servants in freezing cold and then they would freeze! Could be BS.....but considering how she was, it might really have happened!

message 27: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Vlad was my first inductee. He has quite a bio of course impaling included. I did not know that about Bathory..interesting just made her more of a sicko. Her and Vlad both inspired Bram Stoker to create Dracula.

message 28: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments I have inducted my two newest members into the COH,Alfred Hitchcock and Norman Bates. Both have very nice pictures of them as well as a bio.

message 29: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) Good choices both.

message 30: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments When I get a chance I will be inducting Jason Vorhees, Michael Myers, John Carpenter and George Romero into the COH.

message 31: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) More good choices.

message 32: by Shaun (new)

Shaun Horton | 324 comments Lizzie Borden is another female you could add in. I had another one in the corner of my mind, but they darted back into the shadows. Ah well.

message 33: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Thanks Michael.

Shaun, I never considered Lizzie Borden..the murder is notorious however there is still speculation today as to whether or not she was the one who committed the murders..I will consider it though.

message 34: by Justin (last edited May 31, 2014 12:23PM) (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, John Carpenter and George Romero have been inducted into the COH.

message 35: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments The latest inductees into the COH just before Halloween:

Freddy Kruger
Lon Chaney Jr
Boris Karloff
Stephen King

It took some time but they are on the list. Happy Halloween everyone!

message 36: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) The early Nightmare on Elm Street films were fun to watch :-)

message 37: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Yeah, I found them entertaining as well. The picture I found of Freddy was so clear and perfect, seemed only fitting.

message 38: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments While there won't be any new inductees into the COH, you can still check out all of the current ones to get your horror fill.

message 39: by Grampy (new)

Grampy (goodreadscomgrampy) Hey, Justin! I just checked out and joined your website. It looks like it will be a lot of fun! We need to get you some more members signed up... like maybe everybody else on this page???

message 40: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Thanks Grampy! always nice to get a new member and yes my members are rather low aren't they? The more the merrier!

message 41: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments The site is back up and running so that means The Chamber of Horrors is also back up and ready for visitors. Right now I am making up a list of new inductees for 2014. So far the next has a few women that will be added. Take a look at the list and if you think of anyone you feel should be there, post them below.

message 42: by Carlos (new)

Carlos (cdlt1983) I would add H H Holmes and Pinhead from Hellraiser.

message 43: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Pinhead is a good one. I don't know who H H Holmes is though, I'd have to look them up.

message 44: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Jenkins (lynnjenkins) | 9 comments HH Holmes is considered to possibly be the first American serial killer. He was a doctor who opened a boarding house in Chicago during one of the World Fairs in the late 1800's. Kind of like the roach motel, they'd check in but would never check out. He killed many people in different and ghastly ways

message 45: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Thank you for the information Lynn, he would definitely qualify! I thought recently about adding a few serial killers although not all as this is a Chamber of Horrors and not murderers row. Holmes is in though for sure.

I am also going to add Belle Gunness, a woman serial killer who murdered 20-40 men in an 8 year span and was never caught.

message 46: by Michael (new)

Michael (mikedecshop) | 1479 comments The Devil in the White City Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson
is about H.H. Holmes. very interesting read not only about but the world's fair.

message 47: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments As I stated a while back I will be inducting new members into the COH this year and will do so next month. Here are the nominees and likely inductees..

Bela Lugosi
Dr.Frankenstein
Frankenstein's Monster
Lon Chaney
Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie
Belle Gunness
Marie Leveau
H.H Holmes

As you may notice, there is three women on the list. After watching Mysteries at the Museum I learned about Belle Gunness. After watching American Horror Story: Coven I decided to add LaLaurie and Marie Leveau. Also LaLaurie had her own Chamber of Horrors so its only fitting that I add her to mine.

message 48: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments Next three to be added: Dr. Frankstein and his Monster, H.H Holmes, one of the first serial killers.

message 49: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3047 comments It's back! I have moved the COH to my Horror Gallery to make it easier to access.

I will be inducting Pinhead from Hellraiser and Hannibal Lecter.

I need help in consideration for the following, plea your case as to why these three should be in:
Jack Torrance(The Shining)
Leatherface
Chuckie

message 50: by Carlos (new)

Carlos (cdlt1983) The level of insanity, and brutality in all three deserve to be in it alone.
