Kas Sama (GoreShit) | 1 comments Hi, I'm looking to find some new paranormal investigation books to read! Lately I have been reading Paranomal investigator romance books, (Heather Graham) and not very happy with them. I can't seem to find any with plain ghost hunters and NO romance! I need something spooky/scary that will keep me hooked to the story. I hope someone has some good book suggestions!! Thank you everyone (:

Moriah I read Breed of Innocence by Lanie Jordan right now, I'm still pretty much at the beginning, so I can't tell you if it's recommended or not. But if you're looking for a book about demons hunters, this is the book for you.

It's in the R2R thread, maybe it's still open to participate. Give it a try.
Hope i helped :)

Kevin (khardman) | 3 comments I enjoyed "Child of Fire" - the first book in the Twenty palaces series by Harry Connelly.

Child of Fire (Twenty Palaces, #1) by Harry Connolly

Karen (karengreco) | 7 comments Have you tried Mike Carey's Felix Castor novels? I really loved The Devil You Know and have the 2nd one cued up. Not much romance in that, however. Another series I love is Sandman Slim, and there is more little romance in that, but it really takes a back seat to the action. Castor is much more PI than Sandman.

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) Simon R Green's The Nightside series.

It has barely any romance in it and the romance that does happen isn't for that last couple of novels. It is never the main focus of the series.

It has gore, science fiction, mystery and horror.

I can't recommend this series enough. I love it.

Kira Decker (kiradecker) | 25 comments Have you tried The Necroscope series by Brian Lumley. It's a cross between paranormal and horror

message 7: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Rosa (veronicadelrosa) Dresden series by Jim Butcher. There is some romance, but it's very light and most of the books are completely without any romance.

I've read the Nightside series. It's good and twisted. :)

wonderfullyweird88 | 14 comments Have you tried the graveyard Queen series by Amanda Stephens. its eerie and very creepy. There is slight romance in it but mostly it's a crime thriller with a supernatural twist

try this dark fantasy book, it is a bit unique and I was hooked from the start to the finish. Highly unpredictable that much I must say but turned out great in the end.
Rogue Light Destined Legends (1) (Volume 1) by Mr Bryan Nyaude

Zaide Williams (zaidewilliams) | 9 comments Might you be interested in giving my novel Overture a try? It's a paranormal romance with humor and a bit of a thriller element woven in. It's a free download on most sites at the moment. If you give it a read, I'd love to hear what you thought

Gabby | 906 comments I read The Trial (Turned, #1) by Cyma Rizwaan Khan ages ago and enjoyed it. I think it might fit into this category. (No romance, I believe)

Jenna | 4 comments I love Semi-Charmed by Isabel Jordan . Funny, smart, strong heroine, and sexy, bad-boy (alpha but not an asshat) hero.

Also loved Blood Hunger by L.E. Wilson .

message 14: by Maya (new)

Maya Tyler | 2 comments Have you tried Karen Marie Moning's Fever series?

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I've only read the first book in it, but there's a mystery series where a woman sees ghosts, The Remains of the Dead

message 16: by Danielle (new)

Danielle | 3 comments Sounds like you preference is Urban Fantasy. It is Paranormal without the romance. Most series have some romance but it is not the main story line. Chairlaine Harris Grave Sight (Harper Connelly, #1) by Charlaine Harris has a series related to ghost investigation. Patricia Briggs Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews are my favorites, the series I compare all others in the genre to. These books are not strictly ghost hunting books they are full worlds that sometimes include ghosts.
