On a sad note, my cats are deceased as well.

But when they were alive, they loved to walk different places.

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments That puppy's huge grin is hilarious.

message 457: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Thanks for the puppy, Laurin!

message 458: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I thought the thread needed a little brightening.

message 459: by [deleted user] (new)

My cat is alive and well.

I also went for a 6km walk with my son on Sunday. He rode his bike and waited for me to catch up every now and then.

6km=3.7miles

message 460: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments How sweet is your son?!

Nice job, by the way.

message 461: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments It was a cool evening last night and perfect walking weather. I walked with with Mr evie for about twenty minutes.

Susan | 6406 comments Walked the neighborhood tonight. It was a perfect evening for a walk.

My favorite part is the cat trying to shove the dog away.

message 467: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Little looks like that when he tells people no. Holds the hand out Vader style.

message 468: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments I went for a walk with Mr evie tonight. We did our usual trek by the park, only we reversed it so we walked up hill on the way back.

message 469: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments We went walking in the Royal National Park yesterday. Here are some pictures taken at Wattamolla. This is a place where some young men prove their manhood to their mates by jumping from the cliff to the depths below.
This ritual has been happening for years .

message 470: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Neat place. I'm not a jumper.

Gorgeous, evie. Although your second link doesn't work.

I'm with you.

message 474: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments So beautiful. I would swim under the falls. Does that count for anything?

message 475: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Go Barb!

message 476: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Watch out for thin ice, Barb.

message 477: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I thought the same thing! Skating on lakes is tricky business. Riding snowmobiles on them is even more so.

message 478: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Wow, that's cool,Barb.

Phil | 11837 comments From Wikipedia...

Ringette is a team sport played on an ice surface. Played primarily by females, Ringette requires the use of straight sticks to control a rubber ring; with the objective of the game being to score goals by shooting the ring into the opponent's net.

message 480: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments From my car to class. It would be fantastic if the school properly salted everything.

message 481: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Skating on lakes is the best. Always check first if the ice is sufficiently thick for skating of course - and watch out for cracks in the ice surface, I fell three times in 21 km this years, just because there were so many cracks and they were so deep.

I skated here:

Not here, too many skaters, not enough ice.

message 482: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I want to skate under that bridge. How cute!

message 483: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Thanks for the pics, Janine.

message 484: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Skating through neighborhoods looks lovely.

It does, now if only I could stay upright.

message 486: by [deleted user] (new)

You don't see much of that around here.

message 487: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Here, either.

The Netherlands is so adorable.

message 489: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments ::steadies Jim::

Skating appears to be pretty serious there.

message 490: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments It's a bit serious. Everyone's running around with knives strapped to their feet after all, you could get seriously hurt.

message 491: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I didn't think of it that way.

message 492: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Me either! I was thinking serious as in everyone has proper skating attire and there are so many people getting out to skate.

Now I am picturing more of a roller derby atmosphere.

message 493: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Yes, also serious because people do have proper skating attire, tight pants and everything. We only get a few days of proper outdoor skating every year so when those days arrive every one of us who is remotely serious about skating is out there, causing traffic jams and whatnot, all to be able to skate. But even though there's that serious side there's also an atmosphere of comradery. You're all there because you love to skate and everyone is friendly and helps each other if necessary.

message 494: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments That was my first impression from the pictures. I would like to be apart of that kind of community of skaters.

message 495: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments It is awesome.

message 496: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3595 comments In answer to the thread topic, I walk around the lake twice a day with my dog. Although that might not be considered walking somewhere, since we walk in a circle.

message 497: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments I think that is walking somewhere, Scout.

Our walk tonight was up, then back again on part of the coastal walkway near our house. There was a cool breeze off the ocean tonight.

message 498: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Tonight, walking by the sea and under the Southern Cross was a little holiday .

message 499: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments That sounds so lovely. It's fricking cold here. Not an ocean wave in sight.

I walked to what I thought was going to be a mailbox, but they had removed the mailbox so I was forced to walk an additional 3 blocks to the next one. I don't think I cracked 1.5 miles.
