When was the last time you walked somewhere?

I would walk there."
You might actually have to fly, Larry.

That's a beautiful town.

Right, the walkscore is based on how easy it is to get your errands done by walking - not get your exercise by walking. An isolated mountain cabin might have a score of 2 because there aren't any stores nearby, but the walks there might be outstanding.

I'm very close to downtown Olympia, and within ten minutes walking to the library, lots of stores and restaurants, and fifteen minutes from a couple of (expensive) grocery stores. Which is one reason why I don't shop at them.
In the other direction, there's lovely neighborhood, with lots of trees and craftsman houses and sidewalks and plenty of hills. Lobstergirl would like it here. :)

You think walking will change that? It will more likely require surgery.

Walking score zero -
closest restaurant 2.38 miles - but it's since closed
closest groceries - 3.4 miles - farm stand (seasonal)
I got "car dependent" on that thingabob, yet everything is close except books, bars, and entertainment.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh god. I just put in the zip for where I'm moving. The results are STAGGERING.
I'm moving to the moon.

There are wires strung on old tree poles. Is that what you mean? For heat we have a tank of propane.

Hard to know. Those might be disused telegraph wires from the Old West.
Oh good god. Yesterday we drove by Riche Bros auctioneers and I actually thought, as we passed by the giant diesel flatbed pickup Dodge 250s, "that would be good for us to have."

Alternately, I read that Dodge is reviving the rear-wheel-drive Magnum station wagon. Hits so many points of recent interest here: http://content.usatoday.com/communiti...
I love those cars!
Also in Magnum-related news,
Sweeter and I were discussing the many things named Magnum and I decided to like the adjective.
