Lee | 701 comments Stopped on the way home from work to play a round of disc golf. By myself, takes around 45-50 minutes to play 18. 3:30 in the afternoon...90 degrees...sweatin off the pounds! :)

Just checked my "walk score" for the town of Elizabeth...54.

Wendy (misswendy33) | 1 comments Yesterday I walked a mile and a half through my beautiful neighborhood. This is particularly amazing and wonderful because last summer at this time I was pretty much immobile. After two knee replacements I am enjoying pain free movement for the first time in forever. My goal for this summer is to hike to the top of Multnomah Falls. Life is good.

Janice (jamasc) Hi Wendy! Welcome to TC. I hope that will be me in a year or two. I've had one knee done and the other is needing to be done.

I'm only (close to) 40 and I've needed both knees replaced for about 10 years. My ortho and I hope I make it to at least 50. For now it's suparts (I sure this is spelled incorrectly) shots on a regular basis. I'm happy for you that you are doing so well. My mama had double knee replacement, developed massive scar tissue and had to go back and have it 'broken up'. She is now bow legged, can hardly bend her knees and is in almost as much pain as she was before the surgery. Bless her heart. I can only hope I do as well as you are.

You might make it. After all, according to another of your posts you spend considerable amounts of time with your knees in the air.

While on holidays last week we took the kids for a 2 hour walk from Flynn’s Beach to Light House beach. For the first 20 minutes they grizzled non-stop. Eventually they relaxed and enjoyed the walk. We did have to walk along the nudist beach. The kids discovered that there are far more embarrassing parents out there than us. :)

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments I've just started walking from the train station to work. It's about 20-25 mins, I walk pass the National Gallery, the Melbourne Barracks and the War Memorial Shrine. I pass lots of trees who are all in the process of turning red and yellow and dropping their leaves for autumn. Pretty..

I wish RA was around so I could point out to him what a dangerous country he lives in. We've got nothing that compares to having bears around!

message 176: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments You have poisonous spiders and snakes and stuff.

message 177: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Don't forget the crocodiles.

message 178: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments How could I forget those! And the cane toads. I don't know that they kill people, but they are definitely poisonous.

mark monday (majestic-plural) i walked two blocks to the park yesterday. that was nice. but then i started sneezing and had to go home. no one wants to see that at the park.

it's really easy to walk everywhere in san francisco. plus all the hills make you strong!

message 189: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Try walking from the Mission district over to the Marina.

message 190: by mark (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I walked a mile or two while mowing.

Félix (habitseven) Phil wrote: "I walked a mile or two while mowing."

Do you live in Greenspring in either Silverstone, or Silverstone II development? I had a half-acre building lot in Silverstone II that I sold in 2006 for double what I paid for it in 2004. The owner next door built a really ugly home, and the guy down the street built a huge barn for his motor home -- couldn't tolerate either.

message 196: by Amy (new)

Amy Neftzger (neftzger) | 304 comments Phil, if you were mowing while walking you were being WAY too productive.

Greensprings is about five miles from me. I'm in Washington Fields, just up the hill from Staheli Farm. Their cows are 1/2 mile down the hill from my backyard.
