The first listing of The Titan's Curse is a really weird edition and totally not the one that's in wide circulation. It also shows less pages and a bad cover. Annoying.

Hi,
I joined the group not very long ago. I noticed the challenge and thought that it was a wonderful idea. So decided to take part, there is no way that I will be even close to winning but it will be fun taking part.
So for starters I have completed taks 20.1
I read 'The Golden compass' and then watched the film. My son had wanted to see the film for a while so this gave me the excuse, not that I need an excuse normally.
Anyway, even though the film was very well done, I still definiately perferred the book.

4. Read any two books from a Young Adult series.
Percy Jackson And The Olympians Book 3: The Titans Curse by Rick Riordan (320 pages)
Percy Jackson And The Olympians Book 4: The Battle For The Labyrynth by Rick Riordan (362 pages)
Total pages - 682, 25 points

So if any GoodReads librarian here can challenge that 288 num..."
I am a GR librarian. I just didn't want to change it myself, cause how shady would that seem? I put the lesser total in my page count, I just thought I should mention that the pages are wonky.
Borders lists it: 361 paperback, 352 hardcover
Barnes and Noble lists: 384 pb, 368 hc
Michigan lib sys lists: 352 both
Amazon lists: 384 pb, and the hc version goodreads uses with 288 doesn't show...
So, whatever happens, it's not like I am going to throw a fit or anything; just thought I'd mention it.

25.2 The Sisters Grimm: Problem Child (292), The Dangerous Days of Daniel X (238)
Argh, I had chosen the books randomly, and it turned out that the Sisters Grimm was the third book in a series. I hate starting a series in the middle! But I probably will go back and read the first two.
C: 100 pts., 2847 pages.

The Graveyard Book = 1/2 of 30.1
American Born Chinese (multicultural/graphic) and The Awakening (fantasy) = 2/3 of 25.1). Won't count the pages on these until I can count the points, too.
Anne of Green Gables 30.2, my only actual point earner for this batch. Of to contribute to the discussion for the points...

Looking for Alibrandi (320pg) by Melina Marchetta, the Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year for 1993.
It's hard to say if a book deserves an award without knowing what else was up for it. However, if I had to give an award with only these two books on the short list Looking for Alibrandi would win.
