What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Book is about twin sisters who are each dealing with issues. First girl is terminally ill. She is getting all the attention which means second daughter feels alone. She meets new neighbors who teach her about photography and acceptance of what's happening to her sister and herself.

waiting for johnny miracle by alice bach. not sure about photography but it has twins one who had bone cancer and it was published in 1980

This sounds like A Summer to Die by Lois Lowry; the sisters aren't twins, but Molly, the older one, is suffering from leukaemia. Meg, the younger, meets the owner of the house which her family is renting, and learns about photography from him. Later, she meets a young couple who has moved into the neighbourhood, and is invited to take pictures of their baby being born.

Probably because the sisters' names start with the same letter. :)

that and I was 12 or 13 when I read it. I grew up wishing I was a twin so that could my influence. But I do know book Kitten was talking about so maybe I got them confused :)
