That's a great question I wish I could answer. There are some obvious parallels, and some less obvious ones, but whether they arose from one shared set of myths which were gradually dispersed over time, or whether they arose independently, I don't know. And whether the flood stories which appear in many early sources are based on memories of one great flood, or whether each epic was written concerning a more local flood, I also don't know.

Great question. I wish I had a better answer to give you! Maybe somebody else does.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah so many mysteries in the deep sands of time forgotten. I think we as human race need a new epic that covers our realities and condition, sort of what Joyce did but in code like Ulysses and Finnegans Wake...food for thought...thanks!

A vast subject - I suppose you already consulted Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creatio....

Lily (joy1) | 5241 comments I find this intriguing and want to know more:

"The story of our world and the different living things that have populated it is an amazing epic with millions of species both familiar and strange, exotic settings, planet-wide cataclysms, and surprising plot twists. Humans are only the latest characters in this long-running drama, which has always been utterly unpredictable, since periodic mass extinctions are inevitably followed by life rebounding in unexpected ways. Indeed, life and the planet have developed together, each driving the evolution of the other."

That theory points out as if life was a mere chance or plain randomness, like if we as living species, not just humans, will end up just witnessing pure mere silence absolute...I am a man of faith, so I believe in purpose and Divine will, still is one of the huge matters, in which science and religion must coincide, much rather in physics and mathematics than biology; yet still many things to ponder..for example ancient Hindu Puranas and Shastras mention Vimanas or ancient spacecrafts and visits from living beings from all over the Universe or Multiverse..Curioser Curioser still...
