Willa Caldwell jumps in and out of her volatile and sometimes violent marriage seemingly unaware of the affects doing so have on her daughter Jade. After graduating high school, Jade decides to leave her hometown of Gary, Indiana, as well as the pain from her past, to start anew in sunny California with Landon--the man who's always been a best friend and big brother to her. Unfortunately, Jade's new life isn't at all what she envisioned and the heartache she was determined to leave behind only increases. It causes her to wonder if she'll EVER experience something real in the romance department or if it will always be . . . Imagined Love.

" . . . the first quarter focuses more on Jade's parents as young adults in a tumultuous relationship, more for background purposes. From that point on Imagined Love is about Jade and her journey through young adulthood. I personally view the story as more new adult because of the subject matter and coarse/harsh language. Imagined Love has domestic violence and strong sexual situations. I'd best describe it as a dramatic life story, a great deal of it based on my own life."
