Diamond Drake (diamondthewriter) I don't know which book I'd like to try specifically but what I want is to experience being so engrossed in a book that I stay up all night because I HAVE to know how it ends! I feel like I need to step out of my comfort zone in order to find it, I'm just not sure in which direction. So my personal goal is to read two books a month. I know that sounds incredibly low for an avid reader but at the moment I'm working on two novels at once so that takes a lot of my time and attention. Normally I don't read anything while I'm writing but that's a long time to go without enjoying a book. So two books a month it is!

That's a good goal, especially for an active person. Last year my goodreads yearly challenge was 10 books a year. This year it's 30. I thought I was doing something when I graduated to 20 more books and then my friends were 200 books + lol. I still haven't figured out how you have the time and speed to read 200 books a year! Then again I'm a slow reader.

I know what you mean. Twenty plus years ago I used to knock out books like that because I was single and bored and had the uninterrupted time to really enjoy reading for hours upon hours. Now I'm lucky if I get two hours to just sit and read because there's ALWAYS something that needs to be done! So I steal twenty minutes while I'm waiting for my kids to get out of school or thirty minutes before it's time to fix dinner or . . . well, you get my drift. ha,ha,ha Then you add writing my own books in the mix and the time gets cut even more. I've been the WORST reading buddy ever. It's so embarrassing because I'll start reading with the group and then I go to update my little thirty pages and they're all done!! ha,ha,ha Oh well, what can you do, right?

Kerry (caseykerry) Diamond - I know EXACTLY what you mean!
Last night I stayed up til 3.30 am to finish an AMAZING BOOK called Slave Girl by Sarah Forsyth - i cant tell u how good it felt to sit and read for 4.5 hours straight sitting next to my partner, - i had no idea what time it was when i finsihed, i was so engrossed i started reading out load to my man who in turn got ingrossed (although some oarts i just had to read out loud were distubing)
Today i found out that (now 5-6 yrs later) a sequal has just been released! - last month in fact - i went to my site and bought it straight away!

Its so good, i love when you find a book like that! (and it isnt easy!!) Tonight i have felt sorely dissapointed because i have gone and picked up (count them.....) FOUR books and read at least 2 chapters of each and im just not 'fellin it' like i did with that book lastnight!

tell me if any blow ur mind

ALSO KISHA
my goal was 29 books this yr (im 29 yrs old...lame hey haha) and i just realised im on 27! yayyyy
