Goodreads Reviewers' Group discussion

How many of us cross post their reviews to other sites (Amazon, etc.)? Is this frowned upon? Encouraged? Are there conventions/rules? Do you have tips or suggestions concerning cross posting?

I do mainly with galleys, or if I've particularly enjoyed it or it doesn't have many reviews.

I always heavily edit my reviews for Amazon because the rules there are so strict. Then that review will go on Waterstones and anywhere else an author/publisher has asked. My star ratings are different on shop-sites too.

Most of the readers who have reviewed my books have posted them in various places (goodreads, amazon, their own blogs). Personally, I don't see why it would be a problem, and haven't come across anyone who thinks it is.

I always cross post my reviews. The sites I automatically post to are Goodreads, Amazon, Shelfari, and B&N (if I can find the book). I'll post it on my blog, tweet it, and share it on FB, as well as posting wherever else the author requests. I've never met an author who had a problem with cross-posting, although I've seen several readers and reviewers who have a problem with it, and I'm not quite sure why. I don't see how it does anything but help the author.

Going to look up several of the sites you guys use, I haven't heard of many of them! haha
