Hi guys!
I'm Carol, from Ireland, and I'm a huge Fantasy/Sci-fi reader so I have the pleasure of leading this months discussion of Daniel H. Wilson Robopocalypse.
So here are the details:

Schedule:
Week 1: Briefing and Part one, pages 1-94
Week 2: Part two, pages 95-172
Week 3: Part three and Part four, Chapter 1 (Transhuman), pages 173-262
Week 4: Part four, chapter 2 (Call to arms), Part five and Debriefing, pages 263-347

Summary:
They are in you house.
They are in your car.
They are in the skies.
Now they are coming for you.

In the near future, a massively powerful artificial intelligence call Archos is created and cannot be contained. In those early months, only a handful of technological glitches are noticed by humans, as Archos starts to take over out cars, aircraft guidance systems, military robots and computer networks-enslaving the entire global system that runs our lives.

The comes Zero Hour. The robot war suddenly ignites and as all the dazzling technology that runs our world turns against us, the human race is both decimated and for the first time in history, united.

In the devastation that follows, humankind must destroy its own civilisation to survive.

We will not be exterminated.

Briefing

...we are a better species for having fought this war.
Cormac "Bright Boy" Wallace

I love the opening for this book, it's an all action opening and yet it's easy to follow. I love the image of Cormac "Bright Boy" Wallace standing alone with a flame thrower facing off against the stumpers. The tension in that sequence with the stumpers climbing towards him and slowly up his leg while the flame thrower refuses to light (the spark fail, spark fail) is fantastic, brilliantly hooks me in for whatever comes next.

Super-Toys

Baby-Comes-Alive? Is that you?
Mathilda Perez

Ok, I don't know about anyone else but this chapter always gives me the hibby-gibbies! I had a super over-active imagination as a child and always had nightmares of my toys coming alive and coming to get me so the idea of robotic toys coming to life and threatening me and my family is truly frightening!

Hi guys!
So, it's Friday already! Question time!
What do we think so far?
Who are our favourite/least favourite characters?
Who's story arc did we enjoy the most/least?
I look forward to reading everyones thoughts!

Happy Monday!
So it's question time again!
When the robots attack and technology turns evil how will you survive? Will you be able to head to the woods and hunt or like me will you just be lost as soon as your phone/laptop/ipod/handheld games console dies and you can't recharge it?

Ashlee Burke (bashlee09) | 158 comments Lucky for me my mom is a prepper. So if any type of attack or collapse happens we're heading to her cabin in the woods lol. We make fun of her for it, but you never know :)

That's the advantage of where I live, it may be a long slog to work in the morning but it's sort of the middle of nowhere, so if it all goes to hell in a hand basket I should be ok. Assuming I'm at home that day, otherwise I'd be the first to die! I'd be useless in a fight or flight situation, I can't fight and I run really slow!

Happy Monday!!
So, it's question time again!
How do you think you would react to the altered humans created by Rob?? Would you trust them??

Happy Monday!!
Did everyone enjoy that as much as I did??
Favorite characters, moments or plot lines???

I particularly loved Mathilda Perez, so strong and so sad for such a little one.
