This is hilarious...My respect for Scott Adams has just gone up, and I guess now I HAVE to start reading Elizabeth Moon. The rest, you just have to see to believe. Oh and one of the commenters accuses OSC of pedophilia because Ender has a fight naked IN THE FRIGGING SHOWER. Can't make this stuff up.

Of those I read and can recall off the top of my head:
1. Speaker for The Dead (when Ender first meets Novinha's family).
2. Ender in Exile (Ender and Valentine talking during the voyage).
3. Shadow of The Hegemon (Petra's kidnapping).
4. Ender's Shadow (Bean and Poke before she is murdered).

Very good point about Eastern Promises. And in fact that brings up a larger issue. Europeans are much more comfortable with male nudity on screen than Americans. That in itself is very telling.

Whoa, that is a lot! Maybe there's some symbolism there. I do believe Camille Paglia once wrote a whole essay on peeing and masculinity.

Europeans are more comfortable with nudity and sex in movies and less comfortable with violence. Joss Whedon had to re-choreograph a bunch of scenes in Serenity to have it shown in the UK.

Be that as it may, the reason the scene in Eastern Promises was in the nude is strictly for realism and ease of choreographing the fight, not a necessity. In Ender's Game, it's part of the plot since a naked person feels more vulnerable, and that was the intent of the bullies. Anyone who doesn't get it is being purposefully obtuse.

Poor Europeans. I can't imagine what The Human Centipede did to them with their sensitivity to violence and all.

Moon is a veteran as well. Of course, she's also a big leftist but she committed thought-crime by going against the progressive PC orthodoxy with respect to Islam.

I've been told that Elizabeth Moon has by now "clarified" her position (i.e. recanted and self-flagellated and whatever else was required of her) and is not longer considered a WrongThinker by the Left.
