Hello Rothfussians!


As you know (from my countless messages regarding the subect most likely) I have recently launched a forum for the KKC books.

Maybe you are wondering why I decided to do so? Well here's a little story.

I used to be big in roleplaying. Especially Harry Potter and Star Trek. One day I was talking with another Star Trek roleplayer, who also happened to be my commanding officer, and he suggested the KKC books to me. I ordered the book on Amazon and when it arrived I read it in 3 days, and I immediately loved it. I searched and searched for forums about the books on google but came up with nothing. The closest to forums I found was the group here on Goodreads. I joined the group and after a few weeks I became a group moderator. But I still wanted there to be an official forums for the books. So I went ahead and made the forums. Although they are not officially sanctioned by Patrick Rothfuss I believe that they could eventually grow to be huge! And that is why I created them!

The forums now include a roleplaying section where you can create a character and roleplay in various places across the world!

Cool, if we keep it nice enough maybe Pat will give us the Nod for Official.

Then again, I heard he was going to someday revamp the website....sooo...maybe we'll see after that.

Anywho, I'm going to go work on my profile....kinda need to fill that out still.

If he makes this the official forum I will scream. Literally.

And with my luck I'd be in a class, reading about it on my phone and then i'd scream loud and my teacher would probably send me home thinking I had a breakdown... LOL

Bassicly im wondering how is it possible that the chronicler went to the university after kvothe even tho hes yhe auther of the mating habbits of the common dracus which is obvously a book which kvothe notices early on

He goes to University after he wrote the book and after Kvothe left.
Remember this isn't like highschool or anything, it just seems that way. You can attend or start attending at any age, same as college.

Look at Manet. He's still an E'lir even after Kvothe became a Re'lar. Age has nothing to do with it. Chronicler just chose to adventure before he chose to attend University. Chronicler is most likely substantially older than Kvothe.

Very true :) thanks so much just needed to be reassured :D!, i wonder whats in his chest oo and he was doig a kataan at the end of the book when he left his room late at night right? Thats how it sounded when he said he took one perfect step, lol ive read the boom 4 times now ive never read ny book more then once and i love rereading it

No worries, I asked the same question around here before too. It gets confusing because most of the characters and students are young. Not a ton of diversity really.

Haha true yet they make kvothe as kote sound older beyond his years. Im a little worried that the next book is the last altho patrick said he will still be using the same universe

It's the last book focused on Kvothe as the main character. He did release another short story in Unfettered that is a Four Corners Tale and he's mentioned on the blog he has written a short story/ Novella entirely dedicated to Bast, so don't get too worried. I think he'll stick to his world and we'll be blessed with 4Corners Novels for years to come. :))
